I had a strong pain in my back molar and my dentist proscribed this to me. I came on Web MD to look it up as always and I noticed all the reviews and I started to read them. Let me say that I was scared to take it, but I am very happy that I did. I did not have any side effects and my pain is gone! I only had to take it for 7 days. If you read the reviews, just remember that usually the only time ...
I was given this in November. I was nervous to take this after reading reviews and did not take until 2 weeks after I received it. I was suffering so bad that I decided to take it. In December I got c-diff from taking it. On my 4th round of antibiotics now and it is May. Drs said antibiotics don't work they will have to do a fecal transplant. I even took probiotics with it as recommended. I am a ...

Was on clindamycin for spider bites. After five days my abdomen was hard and painful, the required dose was completed. Five days later I had a major bowel bleed. I almost died. This is a frightening drug.

Had very bad heartburn after taking it just before bed and in the middle of the night. It may be because of an empty stomach and laying down right after I took it. This is after one day of starting it.

I was prescribed this drug to treat a recurring abscesses tooth. It is very difficult to tolerate, but seems to be working. Stomach upset and persistent diarrhea. Supposed to take 4 times per day, but after the first 3 pills, I'm so nauseated that I find it very difficult to force myself to take the 4th one. Today is the 3rd day on them...and I couldn't make myself take the 4th one. But, they are making the access better.

I was prescribed this for hydradenitis suppurative and nodular acne. 150mg QDS. No side effects and treats both the HS and the acne. Initially, I was only on 150mg BD but, as is the way with bacteria, the dosage needed to be increased to counter the bacteria's immunity. I have been on it for 3 years with occasional relapses but no side effects whatsoever.

Five days after dental surgery, I woke up itching so badly that I could hardly function. I called my pharmacist who suggested stopping the medication, calling my oral surgeon and taking Benadryl to help with the itching. Unfortunately, Benadryl makes me high - it was like taking speed. The oral surgeon says that there are few medications for dental surgery. I am allergic to penicillin. What happens if I ever have dental surgery again??

Immediately after the first dose (within 30 minutes) I started experiencing severe stomach cramps and nausea. They became increasingly worse at night when trying to sleep. Diarrhea as well. Stopped taking medication and symptoms started to subside. Will be sing my doctor for a different medication. On a positive side - I did see a marked improvement in my sinus infection. But it is not a trade off I am not willing to endure any longer.

Was given clindamycin IV 600mg with a take-home pump. Have been on it for a week. You name the side-affects, I have them! Shortness of breath, sore chest, shaky, sick to my stomach, etc. Took a probiotic to counteract the diarrhea

I took 300mg capsules every 8 hours. This medication caused vertigo, fatigue, and nausea. Through trial and error, I began drinking a lot of water (at least 40 oz with dose). This seemed to reduce the intensity of fatigue and nausea symptoms. Vertigo only diminished slightly. Within 30 minutes of taking the medication, vertigo began and usually lasted all day long, in varying intensities. I also experienced a metallic taste. Food tasted bitter.

Prescribed clindamycin 300 mg, 3x/day for 10 days for an insect bite; previously prescribed oral Bactrim for similar situation a few months ago. Since hx of sulfa allergy, dr changed to this drug. Rash around bite never cleared up. Before tx ended started with rashes - not sure if reaction to this or something else, but was also on prednisone. Not a drug I will take again as ineffective for situation prescribed and seems to be "overkill" for my condition. Also felt some intermittent pain in center of chest as well as aching in neck and shoulders. Read More Read Less

I was prescribed 300 mg to be taken 4x daily for 2 weeks weeks to deal with a bad dental abcess. The drug worked very well for this, but I was left with some alarming side effects in the second week. It started with heavy leg muscle cramping and minor chest pains and progressed to the point where I had all the symptons of a full blown heart attack after climbing a short flight of stairs. After getting checked out in emergency they found no evidence of an actual heart attack, but the symptoms I described caused them to keep me in emergency for almost nine hours so a repeat of the ecg and bloodwork could be done within the prescribed time period.Again, no evidence of a heart attack. I would have ceased taking the medication prior to the end of treatment but I was almost through the course and it is never a good idea to stop an anti-biotic course prematurely. Each of the last two doses left me with minor cramping and chest pains within 1/2 hour of taking them so I am 90% sure that it was the clindamycin that was at the root of the problems. The drug definitely worked for the original purpose, but there needs to be a warning issued that this is one of the possible side effects in some persons. I am otherwise in very good health, so this was definitely an unpleasant first for me.Read More Read Less

I took it for an infected tooth that needed a root canal. Other than a bad taste in my mouth it was pretty easy to take. And it didn't upset my stomach which was great.
