I really like femcon, it has worked out really well for me! I have had less nausea, headaches & my period are shorter & lighter! If you do miss 1 pill you will start bleeding, so it reminds you very much if you forget to take them the right way.

I have been taking this drug since it came out (years!)and was previously taking its predecessor (Ovcon-now generic.) I have had an awesome experience, no breakthrough bleeding, no acne, no pregnancies, and no mood issues or weight gain. I think its a very good medication for me but obviously isn't for everyone.

I have only taken 3 pills of my pack so far and about 2 hours after taking them (I take them at night), I wake up totally nauseated. The medication was supposed to treat me for some signs of PMDD, and I feel more depressed now than before I started on it. I am nauseated all day like I'm pregnant and I'm positive that I'm not.

My doctor switched me to Femcon Fe to help stop breakthrough bleeding that I was experiencing from another birth control pill (Zovia). From the day I started taking Femcon, I bled every single day just like a regular period for 2 1/2 months straight. At 2 1/2 months (and 4 doctor appointments later $$$) I stopped the pill altogether and the bleeding stopped immediately. My periods have been totally regular and under control ever since (it has been 5 months) and I have not returned to taking any birth control pill even though I have had good experiences with other pills. Also, I would like to say that as soon as I started taking Femcon, I noticed a significant change in my mood. I threw temper tantrums better than the average 2 year old and even yelled obscenities at a guy at my gym because he wanted to work in with me on a set of weights. I am totally not like that and can only look back on that awful time (while I was on Femcon) and laugh. Now my mood is stabilized, back to normal and completely harmless. Mostly what I am saying is that my personal experience with Femcon was pretty miserable. I don't think it served any benefit whatsoever and because of the constant bleeding, I wasn't even sexually active with my husband. I would have been better off using a different form of protection.Read More Read Less

I started Femcon this previous Sunday, so I've been on it for 5 days. My doctor recommended it for me so I can develop more in my chest, since I'm an A cup. I don't expect this to happen as I've been on 3 different BCP and not have gained any weight from any of them. I previously was using Lutera. From what I've been reading, I was expecting major spotting with Femcon. I have not spotted once since I've started it. When I started Lutera, I spotted for 3 weeks. As of now, I'm very satisfied with the results. I have not had any side effects with this pill. Since I will not be getting my period for another 2 weeks, I cannot say if it causes heavy/long menstruation. I will post when that occurs.Read More Read Less

I have only been on Femcon for 4 days, and I already hate it. I had gone off of depo and had a period that lasted a month, so my doc put me on this. It has worked- it stopped my bleeding, but I get headaches and throw up about 2-3 hours after taking it.

I have irregular periods due to fibroids my doc. switched me after old B/C stopped working. I have been on this for 5 weeks and two weeks in started spotting, then four days later the mother of all periods! it is five weeks in and the period is still here, it is moderate to light bleeding with a few small clots every once in a while. I have decided to continue the pill until my fibroid imbolization in a week so moderate bleeding with ocasional small clots is better than my usual period heavy bleeding with huge clots. This pill is suppose to be chewable seems great until you realize you need to carry around 80z of water with you to drink emediatley afterwards, for most women that would send us to the bathroom seems a man designed this pill not a woman. The good thing I do like about this pill, I was having some mood swings and this pill has me feeling very happy and positive even with the bleeding and cramps. All B/C pills make me sick. years ago my doc recomended taking it at night just before bed and with a small amount of water only no juice or food. This way you sleep through the sick feeling and do not even notice it. If I eat or drink and take the pill before bed I get sick in the morning so I think it is worth giving that a try if the only symtom one is having is getting sick. I have no idea why this method works but I recomend trying it for any B/C pills. I think this could be a great pill it just did not work for me. Read More Read Less

Terrible experience!!!I had my period for over 3 months. Doctor put me on this medicine for stop bleeding. NO HELP! And the side effects almost killed me! raised blood pressure, cramps in the belly, spot darkness on the face, headche, etc. I ONLY TOOK THE MEDICINE FOR 16 DAYS! After I read the comments here, I decided to stop it. It's not worth to suffer another 2-3 months to try the period becoming regular. After I stoped the medicine, the blooding was getting heavy 3 days, then it's clean! Thank you,GOD ! Now my period has had clean completely for 12 days. I feel much better, but the side effects are still there.Read More Read Less

After 2 months, my hair started falling out. By the third month, it was very noticeable. This could not be attributed to anything else, having consulted with my gyn, endocrinologist, dermatologist & nutritionist. Loss of scalp hair is mentioned as a possible side-effect. Also, very irritable, moody and depressed. I have switched to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo.

I use Femcon in a 3-month cycle. I've experienced no spotting and no pain during my periods. It has made me very nauseous and have almost completely lost my appetite. I have lost a bit of weight and it worsens my pre-existing eating disorder.

I developed an itchy rash on the inside of my knees that has become dark patches on my skin. I've had headaches and have gone from just light spotting to very heavy bleeding, and I'm a week away from the 'reminder pills'. I'll be seeing my doctor tonight to get off these pills.

I am taking it continuously without the sugar pills, and I have no problem whatsoever and all my previous problems (migraines, pain, PMS) went away.

I really hate this medication. It is causing me to feel really weak (weak arms/legs), really awful stomach cramps, headaches, loss of appetite. I really can't stand this medication and want off it as soon as possible.

I had really irregular periods, and ovarian cyst.I've only been on Femcon Fe for 2 weeks and I am absolutely miserable. Now i got my period 2 weeks early instead of the usual 2 weeks late. Im so nausea I can't sleep. I have absolutely no patience, and horrible mood swings. My stomach hurts all the time. I get headaches more often.I would rather have a cyst then be this sick.

I've only been on Femcon for about 3 weeks, and so far the side effects are getting worse and WORSE. I'm having horrible mood swings, I get horrible headache almost every night (I take the pills at night), the newest side effect is the fact that I'm now waking up around 5:30am every morning wide awake, and SICK to my stomach...not to mention I've gained about 6 lbs. I hate this, I'm miserable. Even my fiance asked me to bring back his girl the other night... These pills are AWFUL, I would divorce myself if I could.Read More Read Less

I have nor taken birth control since I was 19. I had terrible problems then and my periods were really heavy with massive cramping. Now I have decided to try birth control again and was put on FEMCON Fe. I like others had the cramping daily and sore joints within the hips. I took some Ibupfrofen for the first 3 weeks and I have finished 1 pack now. I had some spotting and now am doing well with it. I have noticed that I eat more, so I am watching that as well as I now get minor acne which I never had before, not even as a teenager. So this drug has helped me and the pro's are more than the cons. I am 25.Read More Read Less

I was placed on this pill because I have a cyst on my right ovary and a cervical cyst. I had my period for 3 months. Ive only been taking this med for ONE WEEK by the 2nd day my period was gone, but this whole week has been horrible!! I dont know if nausea is part of it, but every morning my stomach feels like a have a hang over. My stomach hurts like if I was hungry I eat the nausea goes away and the pain, but within an hour Im back where I started. If I continue eating to get rid of the nausea and pain and Im going to end up looking like the Goodyear blimp. Its been such a horrible experience, nausea, vomitting aghhh. Hopefully if you're prescribed this BC I hope you dont go thru what I have gone thru. I feel miserable. Monday Im going to my Gyno and asking her for something else.Read More Read Less
