I really like femcon, it has worked out really well for me! I have had less nausea, headaches & my period are shorter & lighter! If you do miss 1 pill you will start bleeding, so it reminds you very much if you forget to take them the right way.

I was put on this for heavy period, irregular periods, painful periods, and a cyst on my ovary. The first few months my breasts were very sensitive and I felt nauseous all the time. I bled for two and a half weeks when I first got them, but they have been 3 days since then. I had to go to the hospital once for heavy bleeding but that was when I first started them and the doctors said it was normal. But I haven't gotten pregnant and I'm happy with them now. I've been on them for a year.

I was prescribed this for ovarian cysts. But it has caused lumps in my breasts. I am now being treated for this. They have not said whether this was a side affect yet or not. I had three lumps removed 8 years ago and have had no reoccurance until they started me on this.

Although this pill is easy to use and is very effective against pregnancy, I don't like it. I've been on Femcon for about 6 months and for the last 2 months, I've been getting really heavy periods that last for at least 2 weeks, my lower back feels like someone ran me over with a semi, and makes it almost impossible to have sex! I mean, it's bad enough that I feel like crap when i'm on my period and I feel like I look like crap, but to go through the hell that is having a period for AT LEAST 2 weeks is pretty unbearable. I've tried 3 different kinds of birth control pills and this is by far the worst one. Read More Read Less

I was on this pill for a year. As months went on, this pill completely disrupted my life. I literally bled and bled and bled. Although breakthrough bleeding is common, no woman should bleed as much as I did. It made sex extremely uncomfortable, I had to worry about ruining my clothes, not to mention I felt like I had pms all month. I would rather be pregnant with twins than deal with the side effects of this pill.

I was prescribed Femcon after taking a similar monophasic for several years. All I can say is DON'T DO IT. I experienced nearly 2.5 weeks of bleeding followed by a regular withdrawl bleed (4th week "period") that was very heavy. I hate this medication and it made me break out. I rated it "somewhat effective", because I couldn't get pregnant on it- I was bleeding too badly to have sex!

OMG BECKY! I have only been on these pills for a grand total of 4 days! I literally feel like I'm taking a trip to Preggersville allll over again! My stomach is extremely nauseated, and my lower back feels like that of a punching bag! I'm having bad headaches that even my trustee Motrin won't get rid of. I just want to crawl up into a ball. I've been on BCP's before, and have NEVER EVER experienced symptoms like these. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FEMCON FE!!!!

I went to the doctor about having long periods. the doctor gave me this pill to stop my period. b4 i had this problem with the abnormal cycle, my normal cycle was 4-5 days no cramps, no headaches, no heavy bleeding. i was so ready 2 get back 2 that. the pill did not work for me. it was not effective. it was easy 2 use since it was chewable so if i was busy, i could chew the pill and later go drink a glass of water. however i was not satisfied. within two 2 weeks, i began to bleed more than i had ever bled in my life. i started having blood clots and i was changing pads AND tampons almost every hour. i never stopped bleeding and the bleeding continued to worsen. it was the worst feeling ever. i was dizzy and my head was pounding and i felt terrible. i could feel the blood clots running out and filling up the pads. i went to another doctor and they took me off that pill and prescribed another pill called ortho novum. the other doctor informed me that my blood count was very low and i was becoming anemic from loosing so much blood so she also prescribed me some iron pills.Read More Read Less

I have been on Fem Con for a year and a half now. I haven't been on any other oral contraceptives to compare it to but my experience has been very positive. I used to get very bad nausea during my periods and had lost upwards of 35 pounds because it completely killed my desire to eat every month. Since starting Fem Con my nausea has completely disappeared. I also suffered from heavy, painful periods and the pills have also made those lighter and barely even noticeable. I have had absolutely no change in my sex drive and it is just as high if not higher than ever knowing I don't have to worry about getting pregnant. And as for effectiveness? I'm no pregnant. lol So I'd vote that as pretty darn effective.Read More Read Less

I have been on Femcon Fe for several months. I've been on bc for almost 10 yrs for irregular and long periods. Even with other bcs I was bleeding for 8-10 days. This med has dropped my bleeding to 3-4 days, although it makes me nervous about being pregnant sometimes b/c I'm used to much more bleeding. I weight has been fluctuating more than normal, with weight gain up to 5 pounds at times. I do seem to be more moody around the time of my period. My face is broken out, but I have always had a problem with acne, so again I'm not sure if this is due tot he med. I think I like this med OK, and will probably continue to take it, even after reading these other reviews, b/c it has shortened my periods. Read More Read Less

I had a ton of breakthrough bleeding when using this Pill. They said to wait 3 months and see if it got better but it didn't. It would go on forever (11 days) too! I was on it for 10 months and only had 2 "good" months with no breakthrough bleeding at all. Very annoying. I was switched to Orto Tricylen Lo and that one is much better for me. I have been on that one for 12 months and only had BB once.

I was on femcon for over a year, and the only side effects I noticed were my breast size went up one cup size, and I was moody more often than I used to be. I never had other problems, and the biggest downside to this pill was the cost. I only switched to a new prescription because of the cost factor, since my insurance does not cover it.

I was put on this pill to regulate my spotting and irregular periods. I still spot and even had a period during week three of medication. Plus by week three my breast are a cup bigger and very tender. All together I feel bloated and miserable for three weeks. It's not worth it.

The drug is rather good, did not cause any side effects on me, but is unaffordable even with insurance coverage.

My period is normally very irregular (comes maybe twice a year). I definitely have a period, but it has lasted 15 days so far. At least it was lighter. My skin is breaking out. Weight gain of about 5 pounds. I does cause slight nausea. I think I will try another drug.

I have been on Femcon for not even a full two months and decided to stop! It has caused a terrible rash on my arms and legs, dry contacts, blurred vision. Since I'm a diabetic it shot my blood sugar up to 300 and I always had control of it. It's caused strange aches in my legs, feet & ankles. And piercing temple aches. And beside all this of course I'm bleeding for 10 days, off 3 days and back to bleeding 10 or so days every month. Supposedly it was to keep my periods down to a minimum! This drug is the worst thing that ever happened to me! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!Read More Read Less

Got a new Rx for Femcon Fe a few days ago. Did research and found out that Femcon is the same as Ovcon. Had horrible experiences with Ovcon35 17 years ago. I bled continuously and was always depressed. So now I've Ripped up Femcon Fe Rx and got a new one for Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'm 42 yrs old with tubes tide, so Rx is for irregular periods only. Will never take this drug! Was bad in 1991 and is still bad now as a chewable! What a marketing scam!!
