it helps me sleep and stop coughing

although this medication makes you drowsy, it works great!

This cough syrup is the best. I had a frequent and forceful cough for about 12 weeks which hurt my throat and after trying a bunch of OTC medicines, I gave in and went to the doctor. I was so glad I did. This stuff worked wonders. I only took it once a day (at night) because it will put you to sleep quickly but I highly recommend. I was better in just a few days. Tastes great too.

I have been takin 1 tsp at night only for cough. It is very effective and knocks me out. The problem is that I continue to be sleepy all day thereafter. I could sleep all day and all night. Some people may be more sensitive to the narcotic that others. In addition, I presume there is a lot of play in how an adult dose works for various size people. I'm going to try to get through the night without it tonight. I cannot function at work while taking this.

I guess it would work great if i were not allergic to it... stayed up all night and then started itching and bad headache in am. But I did stop coughing so much....I needed sleep and didnt get it.

Taking tussionex help me out alot and the flavor is really good unlike other cough medications.

This drug worked great to help me sleep. However, I did not notice that it warned not to take it more often than every 12 hours. I took it again after 6 hours and nearly fainted upon waking up. I got dizzy all of a sudden and couldn't stand up. Then vomited. It was pretty scary. I wish my doctor had mentioned this to me before hand or that it had this warning written on the bottle. Unfortunately, I had to read several pages of warning before noticing where it said this precaution. (I did read them beforehand very carefully, or so I thought, yet somehow missed this important information.) Anyway, I also discovered that I could take half the dose and it still worked fine. This is like a miracle drug. Bad coughs cause my windpipe to spasm. This stops it. Doc warns very dangerous,so I only use a few times when absolutely necessary. sometimes causes dizziness-but worth it

This is the BEST cough medicine ever...but, only take it one time at night. (wait 12 hours before retaking). I take less than prescribed. I am 102lbs, so I only need 1/2 tsp. or less. It is very strong, but works if taken wisely. This can be dangerous if overtaken. Great drug...use responsibly.

Was finally able to get the needed rest instead of being interrupted by cough/cold symptoms.

I was diagnosed with acute brochitis and prescribed antibiotics and tussionex at night This medicine helped me sleep through the night with only a few coughing episodes. It does, however, give me headaches in the morning. Would not recommend for daytime use unless you do not plan on leaving your bed.

This stuff is scarey good. Only take at night. Just need 1 teaspoon {NO MORE} Trust me. I weigh 240 lbs. & this stuff knocked me into la la land. Best sleep i've had in years... Drink lots of fluids too. It tends to dehydrate you.

Diagnosed with bronchitis - dr prescribed tussionex for night time and Hycodan syrup for day time - both work better great - no coughing - slept great

This cough medication worked great. I was able to sleep all night for the first time in two day. I truly rested. You difinately need to measure correctly. I would only be able to use at night, there is no way you could take this and drive or go to work.

I used this medication once before bed. I took the correct dosage and had horrible side effects such as headache and nausea. It was so bad that I couldn't even get my kids ready for school and had to stay in bed 11:00 a.m., until my headache subsided. If you need to get through the night because of cough, take something else, it's not worth the side effects.

it relieved not only my cough, it also relieved my overall body aches and watery eyes.
