Here is an honest review: minastrin is chewable, it doesn't taste that bad, most people here are overreacting. It tastes like one of those dot candies that come on paper, but if said candies had gotten old and kind of gnarly. Not the worst, not the best. I had been on loestrin 24 fe for 7 years. It was very disheartening to find that they would be changing the birth control that I had beco...

I gave this BC a poor rating because I have not started on the pack yet. I am switching over from Lo Loestrin Fe. The only problem I had on Loestrin was break through bleeding and thats it. The dr. told me the dose was to low for me since I wasn't getting my period until the middle of the pack, etc. I read the reviews on my new BC (Minastrin) and I'm worried, but people reading these reviews that ...

I was on lo estrin fe 24 then go switch to this bc. It still works the same as lo estrin fe 24. The only side effect I would say I seen is moodiness. Sometimes I been sad for no reason and just don't want to be bothered with. Oh another thing I notice was that I BARELY had a period. I would say it lasted a couple of hours. I'm not having sex so I know I'm not pregnant by any chance. It says to chew the pill I don't neither do I drink water with them.

Was on loestrin 24 for 5 years and was switched to minestrin after loestrin was taken off of market. Only on minestrin for 4 days and had severe abdominal cramps, breast tenderness and nausea.

I know Loestrin 24 and Minastrin 24 are supposed to be the same thing, but I swear, they're affecting me differently. I was on Loestrin 24 for three years and loved it. (I have been a different pill before that made me sad, moody, and libido-less.) I had no problems with Loestrin 24, but after a month I'm having the old problems with Minastrin 24. Seriously, what gives?! I'm already looking for alternatives.

I have happily declined free generic pills and paid hundreds of dollars over the years for Loestrin 24 FE. This was the only b.c. that seemed to control my explosive periods with zero side effects, so the cost was worth it to me. Since the change to Minastrin 24 FE, I have had constant nausea to the point where I am losing sleep and I never had that with Loestrin 24 FE. I have had crazy mood swings as well as weight gain (which is insane since I can't hardly eat with all the nausea). I don't understand why making the tablet chewable was necessary, but in my experience it hasn't had a taste at all. I haven't had a period during the 2 months I've taken the new pill- took a test just to rule that out and it was negative. It seems to be working ok, but I am eager to visit my doctor to try something else. The cost is now not worth it to me, as I see it as I'm volunteering to feel sick, fat and mean all the time.Read More Read Less

I was on Loestrin 24 for 5 years. They discontinued this product for Minastrin 24 that is the "bioequivalent" drug according to their website. I have had severe mood swings and weight gain while on Minastrin. Minastrin makes me sad and want to cry a lot for no reason. I hate this drug. I had no side effects on Loestrin. Minastrin has an awful bitter and tin taste where Loestrin had a sweet taste when swallowing it. I am very disappointed with my replacement medicine :( :( :(

I had to switch from Loestrin 24 Fe to Minastrin and I am so upset with it. I am 17 and was on Loestrin for a year and a half, and I loved it. My acne (and acne scars) cleared up completely, my periods were light and painless. Yes, I was more hormonal, but I was very happy with the pill. I have only been in Minastrin for two weeks and I already hate it. I gained 8 pounds even though I was eating less than usual, and I have been getting such bad acne. I have most of the "rare" side effects of this pill. This cannot compare with Loestrin at all. I am very disappointed with this. I am going to switch to Natazia in two weeks. I wouldn't even rate this one star. I do not recommend this at all.Read More Read Less

I switched from Loestrin to this and am not pleased with it. I was confused why they thought making this chewable would be a good idea. It tastes absolutely revolting, as expected with any medicine, but you must chew it anyway. It is so much more inconvenient seeing as you MUST drink water with it or the taste will be overwhelming. They had a good thing going with Loestrin and I've very disappointed with the new version.
