Love the transdermal system. No more hot flashes, vaginal dryness, or sleepless nights. Had some break-through bleeding first few months (light period) but that was explained to me by physician before I started it. I've been on it about 1.5 years now and only side-effect is weight gain around my waist. I've researched other HRT and think this is the best. I'm on the lowest dose 0.05/0.14. Is ...

the patch falls off with swimming and showers with warm water, feeling cramps, other than that, I suppose less night sweats and hot flashes.

This patch has been a godsend in so many ways. Eliminated hot flashes, brain fog, aches and pains, trouble sleeping. Its was immediate relief. However, after a few months on I began having severe muscle tightness in back and legs. At times, it spasmed and just would not relent. After having to go without a patch for 24 hours, I realized the patch was causing the tightness, as my muscles loosened for the first time in months. I really want to continue using Combipatch, and am wondering whether my dose is wrong, or I need a different balance of Estrogen and Progesterone. Read More Read Less

Easy to use. No hot flashes at all. Easier on the liver than pills so the Doctor said instead of pills. I sleep really good. I always had depression, So for that I don't know. It might have taken some of the edge off. I have to use men's deodorant now. Women's doesn't cut it. Problem is waiting for menopause to be over. HAHAHAHA

I've been using this patch for about 10 years to treat significant night sweats. There have been no side effects and the sweats went away in the first month or so.

I had frequent hot flashes, night sweats, irritability and general low mood. I tried alternative treatments such as soy and black cohosh but they didn't work nearly as well as this patch. On week two, I experienced dizziness and a little bit of anxiety, so I tried lowering the dose to half a patch, which did the trick. I've had some bleeding but this is much preferable to the symptoms I had without the patch.

I have used the patch for 3 years. My hotflashes were debilitating and it was a welcome relief. I have a lot of skin irritation on contact each time but it is well worth it.

Didn't like taking HRT pills, tried pellets which were better but made my breasts very sore. Combipatch seemed a great alternative. The side affects were not tolerable and it did nothing for libido or sleep. Hot flashes improved but had been mild. Started heavy bleeding, clotting right away. Called the Dr after a week of this who said give it a few months. The clotting stopped and the bleeding slowed after 2-3 weeks, but by week 4 the bleeding got heavier again. I'm at 6 or 7 weeks now and I haven't stopped bleeding for a single day. This past week like I'm on the worst days of my old periods with cramping. A 54 year old shouldn't be going through boxes of tampons and pads! I'm done with it and going to find a new Dr. I have other health issues that he may not have considered. I went to him because I didnt want to use the pellet and had some short term bleeding to begin with. Read More Read Less

This medication resulted in a blood clot (DVT) in my right leg and left arm. It was caught in time and treated with Lovenox and Coumadin.

I had almost immediate releif from hot flashes and insomnia, but after 4 weeks on the combi patch I started spotting/ bleeding, cramps and tender breasts. Now GYN wants to do a Endometrial biopsy...it seems from reading that bleeding is common symptom of the patch. I'm not willing to put up with the bleeding and cramps....I think that's worse than the hotflashes! I thought this was the answer

I am 53 and perimenopausal. I was looking for treatment for hot flashes, mood swings and fatigue. The patch worked to treat those symptoms pretty much immediately - what a relief! Unfortunately my problems with hit have been bleeding and weight gain. I hadn't had a period in 6 months and have had bleeding for about 6 weeks off and on since I've been using the patch. I have also gained 5 lbs in 3 months. So going to try something different but I don't know what!

I am a 55 year old who has suffered horribly for three years with severe hot flashes day and night - often six or more per hour. Started the patch after suffering side-effects from the HRT pills. The patch worked beautifully almost right away, for the first, two, weeks. Now, in week six, I am in week two of a miserable, cramping, heavy period, my hot flashes have started up again, and my bra cup size has gone from a 'C' to a 'DD'. I am also having trouble with fluid retention. This all saddens me. Is there nothing that will provide relief? Read More Read Less

I have been on the lowest dose Combipatch going on three years. It immediately got rid of hot flashes, vaginal dryness and migraine-like headache due to menopause. The big issue I have is that there has been ongoing bleeding. 1 year I had a vaginal ultrasound to determine why I was bleeding but all was fine. I was told that the bleeding should stop in the second year. However, going on my third year I am about to have another ultrasound. My periods used to be very light or sometimes non-existent, now I am more than making up for that! Also, the vaginal dryness has started to return. The doc gave me an expensive scrip for estrace rather than upping the dose of Combipatch, I must talk to her about that. My skin has benefited from the estrogen, as well. Finally, as the other poster noted, it is hard to just refill the prescription. I switched from CVS to Giant pharmacy in order to get my refill on time.Read More Read Less

I love this product. Great for hot flashes. My only problem right now is that I can find no drugstores in Tyler, Texas that currently have. Walgreens in Tyler have it on backorder and have no idea when it will come in. I called 3 other drugstores and none have in stock. Is anyone else having this problem?

So far, very good. It took 10-14 days for my hot flashes (formerly 12-18 daily) to vanish, but they did! I started spotting last night (about three weeks on regimen) and am now bleeding steadily and cramping. If this is temporary or periodic, I'll happily take bleeding over hot flashes, as they were really embarrassing. Like many other users, I formerly thought I could tough out menopause symptoms and relied on the OTC products, which seemed to work early on (placebo effect?) but then failed utterly. After seven months straight of ever-increasing hot flashes and foul temper, I said "enough." With the patch, I feel calmer and more productive; I do hope my forgetfulness of words resolves. I'm intrigued by those who have used half a patch and achieved results and will ask my doctor about that when I check in, probably in three months unless the bleeding becomes worrisome. I want to use as little HRT as possible. The patch adheres well on me; the problem is removing the adhesive without abrading my sensitive skin. After regretting scrubbing off the first two patches' residue -- and a layer of skin, I now use a gentle makeup-removal wipe, then apply mineral oil with a soft cotton pad in rays from center of circle outward. The adhesive rolls off. Try it!Read More Read Less

I've been using Combipatch for 5 years, since I was 52. Within about a month, my terrible night sweats, brain fog, and irritability went away. What a life saver. I have had no weight gain or other problems. I also highly recommend L-Theanine (OTC supplement) for anxiety symptoms associated with menopause (or other causes!)...another life saver!

I was using the lowest dose patch. I just stopped it today after only 3 weeks because it is not working and I have experienced bad side effects. I have had terrible headaches, insomnia and 2 periods in 14 days!! (not spotting, 2 full periods). Hot flashes did not go away either. Also still very emotional and moody and angry. This patch gave me severe PMS for the entire time I was on it. I was better off before. It didn't stick well either and costs $90 with my blue shield insurance. no thanks. I was taking an estrogen only patch before (Vivelle) and it worked much better for me.Read More Read Less

I am 48 with narcolepsy. I've had night sweats for YEARS, worsening in the last six months. I would wake up soaked multiple times a night - not good for someone who already has sleep issues. This patch (lowest dosage) worked immediately for me - I've had two completely dry nights and just feel better overall. I haven't been using the patch long enough to experience the side effects that others have written about. But after being sleep deprived for so long, any side effects will have to be severe for me to give this up. This patch has been life changing for me!Read More Read Less
