I'm 42 years old and I have had mild skin psoriasis since I was a kid. About 2 years it morphed into PA. I didn't know it was PA until about 2 months ago. I have had lots of pain and swelling in 3 toes, 2 fingers, both wrists, my knee, my sternum, and my shoulders. My doctor tried to put me on Methotrexate and I refused after reading about that poison. After reading about Otezla and it's safet...

I had every symptom. It worsened my PsA horribly. Dr consulted with Otezla and said they have had no incidences like mine. I stayed on this drug for months. Bad decision...

I had headaches and nausea the first few weeks. I now just have a little nausea. The lymphnodes in the back of my head are not swollen for the first time in 2 years. I just washed my hair and ran my hand over my scalp.. Very little plaque .. Huge improvement.

I have had this ugly disease since 2003. I have been on everything. Just recently I was put on Otezla starter pack. This Thursday June 30th 2016 will be the end of my starter pack. And I have on the end of my 1st week have had swelling, pain, and UNBEARABLE ITCHING!! Can someone please tell me is this the whole calm before the storm? Is this going to get worse before it gets better?? Or should I be very worried and head over to the ER??

Horrible drug. I took it for 4 days it worked miracles on my skin. Side effects were awful. Severe depression, worst fatigue ever. Felt completely whacked out like a horrible hang over and mildly tranquilized.

Third week.... 15 mg 4x a day. Much easier on the stomach. Just cut 30mg pills in half! Amazing results in ankles, knees & wrist, less swelling & pain. Skin has also improved!

I have been on everything from Embrel to stellara and I was excited the Otezla didn't require the level of monitoring and I didn't have to take injections anymore but Otezla makes me so ill and causes a lot of side effects for me personally. That would be tolerable if it worked but it doesn't work well at all I'm maybe 30% clearer than if I wasn't on anything. Lost my insurance due to Obama care and can't afford health ins now so I suffer through it.

I'm on week 2 of the starter pack... So just a newbie. What I can say is that my first week on it, my skin was so unbearably itchy I went rummaging through my medicine cabinet in the middle of the night for some hydrocortisone!! Which only helped a little. Week 2 - the itch is bearable now (with help from the hydrocortisone) but not much improvement either.

Started Otezla in March of 2016 with 70% coverage of severe plaque psoriasis. After 1st two weeks I was 80% clear. In 30 days 98% clear, this stuff is amazing.

Otezla did not work for me. The good part was that the pain in my fingers and tows went down about 50%. The bad part was that my stomach was upset most of the time. I was dead dog tired all of the time. I would get up, eat breakfast and need to lay back down. Otezla neutralized the flow max I am taking for my prostate. I had headaches every day or two. It was not a good experience for me. I have a new bottle of Otezla that still has the seal on it that I need to sell. It is 60 pills of 30 mg that has never been opened. I will sell it for $100.00. Call 903 856 1799 and Ask for Bill if you would like to buy it. Read More Read Less

I have plaque psoriasis on my fingertips and soles of my feet. I had it as a young child and for many years I have been clear. I am now in my 60's and broke out about 2 years ago. I have tried various remedies, including laser treatment which did not help. I am on week 3 of Otezla and it is definitely helping on my fingers, but not the soles of my feet. I have had some side effects, diarrhea, runny nose, sore throat. I will stay on the medication for a while, as I am seeing a difference with my hands, but not sure I can put up with the 'cold symptoms' for much longer.Read More Read Less

I have had psoriasis for my whole life, I don't remember a time without it. I've tried several different topical creams and light therapy and nothing has helped as much as this drug. The first week was rough.. All the side effects they mention I experienced them. Now on my second week the side effects have now subsided and I am about 60% clear. The only thing that's I was not expecting was how itchy my skin would be in the 'healing' stage. Otherwise I am good and can't wait till it's all gone!! Summer shorts here I come :) Read More Read Less

new dermatologist treating me for maintenance on humira gave me a new TB blood test that was false positive. After having to quit humira, which cleared my gutate psoriasis 100%, I am now on Otezla. It is not working after 1 month. when the psoriasis came back, it aggressively broke out on my scalp.

I have had minimal if any side effects from the medication. I can tell its helping reduce the pace of the psoriasis and it is drying it all out. I am happy with it so far...but ready to see some real results.

Started on 12/01/2015 and still taking it today at the request of my dermatologist. Psoriasis getting worse every month since stopping methotrexate and starting Otezla. I've had psoriasis for 40 years and have tried all forms of treatment including biologics. Enbrel worked best but caused a massive infection that required major surgery to save my life. Don't know what's next but this drug isn't it.
