I'm 42 years old and I have had mild skin psoriasis since I was a kid. About 2 years it morphed into PA. I didn't know it was PA until about 2 months ago. I have had lots of pain and swelling in 3 toes, 2 fingers, both wrists, my knee, my sternum, and my shoulders. My doctor tried to put me on Methotrexate and I refused after reading about that poison. After reading about Otezla and it's safet...

I had every symptom. It worsened my PsA horribly. Dr consulted with Otezla and said they have had no incidences like mine. I stayed on this drug for months. Bad decision...

Double Oreo at the 12 week mark. I'm happy to say that my torso, which previously was not worse nor better, it almost clear completely. While my torso improved dramatically, my scalp got slightly worse. Legs and arms clear. Appetite changes almost daily from full feeling to extremely hungry. No headaches. Loose stools continue but slowly getting normal. Never had depression side effect as it warns in commercials. I still recommend taking Otezla with meals. More liquids, the better. I still feel it bit "off" about 2 hours after taking Otezla, but feel normal much quicker if I take liquids. These "off" feeling lasts about 1-3 hours in length. Read More Read Less

I have had psoriasis for 18 plus years. I have tried all of the other meds suggested by my doctor and being diabetic the majority of those drugs were immune inhibitors and did not work out well for me. I have been on Otezla for about 3 weeks and I have seen improvement in the torso area and arms and legs. I have had some of the symptoms such as diarrhea and muscle pain especially in my legs. So far the outcome is worth the pain and I am able to take alieve or ibuprofen and it has helped.

Double Oreo back at 8 week marker. My legs now are totally free of psoriasis except for small patches on my knees. Arms doing well but not as good as the legs. Torso slightly better but I think it works its way from the ends. Scalp is almost clear-I don't have to go to the bathroom every 2 hours to shake off. This is a blessing by itself. I feel slightly nauseous depends on how much liquid I drink following the morning pill. Bowels are extremely regular, sometimes three times a day. Headaches started about week six, mostly mild but uncomfortable. Twice I didn't take the evening pill and headache gone by morning and continued on normal dosage thereafter. The arthritis is now minimal. Mostly in my hips, but almost no pain now. I am NOT losing weight as a common side affect. Weight has stayed the same. Some mornings I get intense stomach growls. Overall, very very happy with results. I feel more comfortable with small increments of improvement than fast and furious. Probably just my apprehension of all medications. Funny story is that pharmacy sends monthly medication via UPS. well, it didn't arrive last Friday as confirmed. On the line with pharmacy and UPS representative combing the development. I found it across the street. I was almost out of medication and I felt slight concern. Maybe have pharmacist send a little more in advance just in case. Read More Read Less

Been having skin trauma for years undianosed. Recently diagnosed as psoriaform with plaques. On Monday I took the first of two mornings of 10mg of Otezla titrate packet. Am to take another tonight and hope will not wake me up to run to the toilet. Both have caused nausea and dhiarea within two hours and the nausea lasts all day into the evening. Just drinking a sip of water makes me feel sick. Two nights (Saturday) before starting this Otezla the patches were swelling and itching badly. Feels like something biting me. I try not to scratch but gets worse from skin temperature not regulating...going from cold to hot like flash sweats even though I keep the a/c at 68F. So on Saturday night I scrubbed off the thin dry "plaques" on my legs and drenched them with peroxide. The next morning I showered and applied a heavy dose of Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% cream followed with a mixture of the cream, Cera Vee cream, and Gold Bond with aloe vera lotion. I applied all these after showering on Monday and today Tuesday along with the Otezla after light breakfasts of a banna and dry cheerios. My skin is in bad pain where I often feel I will be paralyzed. Feet hurt so bad I can hardly walk. I pray this drug will help me and the nausea will end but now must take a third 10m before bed. I will update progress with hopefully positive results.Read More Read Less

I have had psoriasis for over 30 years. It is severe and painful. Otezla is a miracle drug to me. It has not cleared up my skin completely. However I can wear regular clothing now, short sleeves and jeans.I still ointment once a day but the change to my life is amazing. It does not take me an hour just to put on ointment in the morning. No side effects. I love this medication!!

It has been 4 weeks on Otezla. I've has Psorisis since 18 years old and PsA since 38. So far, improvement is seen on my legs and scalp. Does it start working at the ends of the body? Middle torso area remaining the same. Some improvement with arthritis. Slight nausea, loose stools and the feeling of never getting hungry. I eat according to the clock, not hunger pains. Will write back in a month for progress report.

Otezla gave me my life back- after 2 days of taking it, it felt like a cloud was lifted and I was a new person. My scalp was the first to clear- completely in 2 days. I have NO more joint pain and aches. My skin started clearing up in about a week and is about 90% clear now. I started at the end of January- no more inflammation, itching or burning on my skin. The first week I experienced diarrhea but that passed. Sometimes I have some nasauea and queasiness but if you take it on a full stomach you should be fine.Read More Read Less

Otezla has been a miracle for me. I started it 4 weeks ago and my psoriasis is completely cleared. Before Ireland I had tried every topical cream available. Also tried humira which made me so sick. Caused my blood pressure to sky rocket etc. now the first 2 weeks starting otezla was a little difficult. I have expirenced just about all the side effects. Nausua being the worse. Headache, neck tension (tension headache) diariah, and feeling a little depressed and tired. I'm starting my 5 week and the side effects are diminishing. For me the side effects are worth it. Before even picking my kids up was painful due to psoriasis on my hands For those just beginning. Hang in there like I said this drug has been a miracle for me. Read More Read Less

I was diagnose with chronic psoriasis at the age of 25 and I am now 51. I started with several meds from all the creams ointments, enbral the only one that was effective was humira, i was on it for over several years unfortunately insurance changed so i decided to try ortezla, ive only been on it for a week, its not pleasant I felt some nauseousness. Really not happy with it but because its early i will give it a chance, otherwise i want to continue with Humira.

While the drug helped my psoriasis some, the side effects for me were terrible. More pain and at times hard to walk. Felt like my body was actually dying. never been the same since taking Otezla. Was only on it for a month. Bad respiratory infection, sinus infection that has never cleared.

I haven't noticed any change that is positive. Since taking thus I now wake up in pain. I am out of the 2 week range and I still get headaches. Absolutely no change for the good for psoriatic arthritis or psoriasis. No one knows about this drug so you can't find out anything about and I'm just using sample packs because my insurance doesn't want to pay. Yeah not a good one for me

I have had psa for over 10 years. Tried Enbrel which didn't fully work, Remicade worked for several years but started to become less effective. Humira worked for about 6 months then stopped lasting the full 2 weeks. We chose this because it's a steady dose and I liked the no needles option. It took a few weeks to really start working but my joints hurt a lot less. My psoriasis hasn't fully cleared up yet. I still have some in my scalp that is stubborn. The main side effect I have is nausea. It comes in waves... Epigastric pressure and I feel like I'm belching quite a bit. My doctor prescribed Zofran and I take Ranitidine as well which usually does the trick. Compazine works even better but it makes me groggy. I'm willing to live with the nausea as long as the stuff works. Funny how when you have chronic pain, you are willing to tolerate just about anything to make the pain go away. Arthritis pain isn't completely gone yet but its vastly improved and I've only been on this for 6 weeks. I hope it continues to work. Read More Read Less

My experience with Otezla has been horrible. Constant never ending dry cough. Horrible diarrhea, and acid stomach. and now 2 respiratory infections (bronchitis and now pneumonia in 7 weeks). My doctor took me off of it and I will be doing light box therapy.

The Psoriatic Arthritis started at 5 yrs old, Psoriasis started at 13. My Psoriasis was classified as severe recalcitrant, the Psoriatic Arthritis has also been severe. Methotrexate & Humira didn't work & I was constantly nauseated & vomited frequently while taking Methotrexate . I've taken other meds that have helped, but stopped working or ins quit paying. I've been getting Remicade for years, but it stopped working. My Rheumatologist started me on Otezla, he told me it would take 2-3 wks to see an improvement. It has been 1 wk, my back & joint pain has diminished, my skin is for the most part is smooth. It is still red, but it's only been 1 wk. My energy level/over all feeling of well being has increased somewhat. I hope it continues to improve! I had some nausea the 1st few days, but eating something right before taking it has prevented the nausea. So far that's the only side effect I've experienced. Read More Read Less

First 2 weeks side effects included small headaches, nausea and being jittery. However, these side effects went away completely. After 2 months of use, my Psoriasis has almost completely disappeared. I could not be happier with the results. The only drawback I see is that if your insurance does NOT approve it, it is very expensive. A 3 month supply (2 pills daily 30mg each) was going to be $6000.00. Thanks goodness my prescription plan covered it. If you do get approved and still have a co-pay, call Otezla and ask for co-pay assistance. They asked for no financial info and covered my co-pay for 2 years. Read More Read Less
