I'm 42 years old and I have had mild skin psoriasis since I was a kid. About 2 years it morphed into PA. I didn't know it was PA until about 2 months ago. I have had lots of pain and swelling in 3 toes, 2 fingers, both wrists, my knee, my sternum, and my shoulders. My doctor tried to put me on Methotrexate and I refused after reading about that poison. After reading about Otezla and it's safet...

I had every symptom. It worsened my PsA horribly. Dr consulted with Otezla and said they have had no incidences like mine. I stayed on this drug for months. Bad decision...

initially I suffered none of the side effects mentioned as a possibility, but the longer I took the drug the side effects began appearing. I began having headaches, nausea, loose stools, joint and muscle pain, loss of appetite and fatigue, all of which were moderate to severe. I saw no improvement in my plaque psoriasis and have discontinued the drug after taking it about 2 months. I am feeling better, most, if not all the above symptoms have ceased. I cannot recommend this drug to others because of the lack of efficacy, the side effects and the cost.Read More Read Less

After Enbrel & Humira failures for moderate to severe PSA I decided to give this drug a try before exploring other options. After getting through the initial side effects which were moderate with nausea and diarrhea which lasted approximately 2 weeks, I have had no improvement with pain or swelling in toes, fingers and wrists. I am beginning week five of treatment. My toes are more swollen than they have been for over two years and my pain level has increased. Will continue with the two pills daily treatment until my next Rheumatologist appt which is three weeks away. Not impressed with this drug and its effectiveness to this point. Had hope for some improvement by this point of treatment but it does not appear to be effective for me but I will hang in there for the next three weeks. The drug is easy to use and I will admit it has been nice to not have to worry about self injections. I have noticed more difficulty sleeping while on this medication. Read More Read Less

I am almost a month into Otezla and have already noticed a different in the size and severity of my plaques. I have struggled with Psoriasis for 7 years and first tried every cream and injectable (non-biologic). Once my plaques started to spread all over, I was unable to get the injectables so I tried for Humira. After a LONG and I mean LONG struggle with insurance I got on Humira and I had great success with it. I am in my early 20's and was afraid of the side effects of Humira since I was on it off and on for so long. Once I heard Otezla was approved by my derm he suggested it. I am excited to see where I will be in another month. I hope to be clear because this has taken a toll not only on me physically but emotionally also. Hope others have noticed a difference for themselves as well!Read More Read Less

I have had lots of pain and swelling in 3 toes, 2 fingers, both wrists, my knee, my sternum, and my shoulders. My doctor tried to put me on Methotrexate and I refused after reading about that poison. After reading about Otezla and it's safety profile, I insisted my Dr. prescribe me it. I finally got a pre-approval from my insurance company and have now been on it 6 days (starter pack). My mild skin psoriasis has already almost gone completely away and my PA swelling and pain is greatly reduced. I am confident that after another week, my symptoms will be pretty much gone. I am also on an anti-inflammatory diet which also may be helping out. I have had a few waves of mild nausea (like eating a multi-vitamin on an empty stomach) but only for short periods of time and I have had very mild diarrhea. So far, the biggest benefit has been that the chronic fatigue fog seems to have lifted and I am feeling optimistic about being pain free. Read More Read Less

I started taking this drug on 11/12/14. I have arthritis mutilens in my left pointer finger.I also have PsA in my right elbow and ankle. After many failed treatments this is a miracle drug for me. My pain has decreased tremendously. The swelling hasn't gone down yet.But I am hopeful.Definitely worth trying.

Been on it for 3 weeks, no headache and no side effects at all. Haven't seen huge improvement yet but I am sure it takes a couple months. I have strong hopes for this drug.

I have lived with plaque psoriasis over 10 yrs. I have tried several different medications. One of the medications was methotrexate. It has caused liver damage after two yrs of taking. When this drug Otezla came one the market I knew I had to try it. I have been taking it 3 weeks now and my psoriasis is clearing up. I did have headaches the first week and a half then diarrhea. But now all symptoms are gone. Thank you Otezla for bringing back my life.

Started 3 weeks ago. My skin is clearing up. I did not realize I had the aches and pains with arthritis until I starting taking Otezla. Headaches where terrible at first but manageable. Very little other issues.

Been on drug 2 months. Initally had horrible headaches for the first couple of days, then they became much more sporatic- now I have a major headache every 3 weeks or so. No nausea, but my appetite has dramatically decreased, and I have lost weight. Very loose stools. Psoriasis has cleared up a bit, but not completely. Joints are much less achy too.

Using 30x2=60mg/day for 6 weeks. Have had constant diarrhea; it does not seem to be getting better. Also slight headaches between 1 and 5 hours after taking med. Swelling of joints has stabilized. Major joints are OK; fingers are swollen. Also using leflunomide at 20mg daily and prednisone at 10mg daily. Without Otezla, the other meds did not keep the sweeling down on major joints. Am going to give it another 2 months.

PSA works nausea just started a pill for the nausea, but not terrible. WORKS my skin is clear, my arthritis is minimal can move hands and feet no problem. OTEZLA a big time life saving winner. I have been on every PSA med for the past 12 years. Remicade worked for 5 years then I pooped out 4 years ago. This medicine works well. Two pills a day. My prayers have been answered. Good luck to you all.

I am not prone to side effects, but this drug made me feel horrible. I experienced all the side effects for the entire 27 days that I took the drug. headache, cramps, diarrhea, all the issues that come with having diarrhea for 27 days & DEPRESSION, a feeling of hopeless. By the time of day that these feeling wore off it was time to take the 2nd pill.

Significant headaches and one episode of migraine (first in my life). Regular unrelenting nausea that lasts for 3-4 hours, starting 2 hours post pill. Slight improvement in skin; actual worsening of arthritis in hands. The above symptoms persist even in weeks 3-4 of therapy, unabated.
