I'm 42 years old and I have had mild skin psoriasis since I was a kid. About 2 years it morphed into PA. I didn't know it was PA until about 2 months ago. I have had lots of pain and swelling in 3 toes, 2 fingers, both wrists, my knee, my sternum, and my shoulders. My doctor tried to put me on Methotrexate and I refused after reading about that poison. After reading about Otezla and it's safet...

I had every symptom. It worsened my PsA horribly. Dr consulted with Otezla and said they have had no incidences like mine. I stayed on this drug for months. Bad decision...

This is my second go-around with Otezla (insurance issues interrupted my treatment the first time). It has helped my arthritis pain so much and my skin is 100% clear. I'm 6 months in and still struggling with vomiting and diarrhea. I was on it for a year previously, and the side-effects stayed with me throughout.

Was taking Otezla for about 3-4 months… cleared up my psoriasis but my started to notice my Achilles’ tendons started to get enflamed.. I used to be able to run and speed walk 4 miles and I can barely do 2 miles and I’m limping due to the inflammation on my Achilles… ive never had that happen before I took meds … so I stopped taking them so see if it would help and I’ve stopped taking meds for about 3 months now and I still have swollen Achilles … not sure what to do now… I’m sad cuz my psoriasis did clear up but I’m afraid to go back on it Read More Read Less

This drug has made my life miserable for 6 weeks. I knew there might be side effects when I started otezla but was not prepared for the severity of these. I followed the prescribed build up of dosage exactly. I have had severe diarrhea and some nausea from the beginning. But I stuck with it because I believed in my doctor and I want to get my PsA under control. Then I became incredibly depressed. I am not prone to depression so this was really scary. I have been crying at the drop of a hat and can’t seem to do the simplest things like make dinner. I am normally a strong person so these feelings are all wrong. I stopped taking otezla 8 days ago and I am still experiencing the physical and emotional side effects. I would not recommend taking otezla if you have any other option. It has not helped my PsA and has made my life and health worse. Read More Read Less

Have been on Ortezla for 2 weeks. Started on the full dose (30 MG) and did not start with a starter kit. Only 1 time have I had a bad headache where it required me to take something. No bowel or gastrointestinal issues either. I have been able to take on an empty stomach as well. It has nearly cleared my scales and red spots on my head. My face has also cleared without the use of my oil application.

I was prescribed Otezla for psoriatic arthritis. I took it for about 18 weeks. My arthritis improved only minimally. - I experienced the side effects of nausea, diarrhea and headaches throughout the 18 weeks. I stopped the treatment since it wasn't really working for me. And that is where the real trouble began - I had only suffered mild psoriasis over the years. I have not had a significant outbreak in over 25 years. In very short order, after I stopped this medicine, my psoriasis returned with a vengeance!! It's now almost 6 months since I've stopped taking this drug and I'm STILL trying to get the psoriasis under control. I would NOT recommend anyone take this drug.Read More Read Less

I have psoriasis on scalp for more than 35 years and after I finished the starter pack, it is almost 90% clear. I am so happy with this drug. I had some side effects but after two weeks it got better. Taking it with food helps me a lot. I can not take it with empty stomach I feel nauseated. Try this drug and it is worth it.

My doctor says I have a mild case of psoriasis and related arthritis. With my old doctor I was using Humira which was 100% effective. This doctor said that medicine has many potential side-effects and is too strong for my condition. I made the switch. For the most part it works although my psoriasis is back. 2 dry patches above each ear. Pitting in my nails. But this winter I have had maybe 3 episodes of arthritis where I was in significant pain, especially in 2 fingers. My doctor said "flare-ups" are expected. My stool has definitely softened and I find myself having to go multiple times a day. Read More Read Less

I've been taking Otezla for more than a year. Otezla has greatly improved my quality of life, I am 90% clear. Do not skip doses, it's less effective if you do.

I was excited with the results in the first 3 months but then the effectiveness stopped and actually reversed. I now have more areas of scaling and increased the existing areas. Became very nauseous . Stopped treatment. Going to try something else.

Usual beginning side effects as stated on warnings, mild after 10 days, nothing adverse after 5 weeks. Slow but steady improvement after 4 months taking this. Not sure what brought on the condition but this seems to help and is actually correcting the problem, so far. Thanks.

I'm only on day 6 of the starter pack, so no change in my skin yet, but I didn't sleep well last night. I ache in multiple joints. No headaches, no nausea, very mild change in stool.
