Switching from daily regimen of multiple IR hydrocodone based tablets to a single dose with 42 hour efficacy is very efficient. Each ER tablet dose depending on unknown factors can have analgesic peaks, usually in the evening with sometimes earlier peaking. Overall, the ability to take one tablet per day reduces sense of dependency and assumes a sort of autopilot status regarding pain relie...

This is my second month on Hysingla 20. Has worked well except I need a Hydrocodone 10/325 about 12 to 14 hours after taking. No problems with blood pressure yet. It does seem to make me more sleepy than just the Hydrocodone by itself did at 5 times a day. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis during my 30's and I am 70 now.

I was on the hydrocodone but couldn't get it bc of the manufacturer so I had to get the brand name which cost $171.00 the hydrocodone was $100. It's so hard to pay for my meds am a senior citizen, on a fixed income. And they say this medicine doesn't even help with nerve damage. I feel like they no what can help and we do tell them but they don't no our plan so why don't they listen to us.

9/29/22 started today. I have been in chronic pain since 2013. 2yrs ago my Dr took me off of oxy 15 /3x a day he said I was on them to long so 2yrs he put me on Percocet and Xtampza the Percocet didn't help and I changed Dr 2times. I had back surgery it didn't help, 2 hip replacement 2021, 1knee surgery. I even tried medical marijuana it helped but it was to strong for me, and this new Dr didn't want me on marijuana so until my system was clean he took me off my meds and I had a card from a former Dr. So after 2 months of chronic pain and no pain pills he gave me back my oxys and Xtampza which is time release, it's really good until the price goes in 9mths to 200.from 50. So he started me on this Hysingla ER 40mg with Oxy 10mg. I took it at 3pm (9-29-22) and I just took another oxy at 9:45pm. I have to take them 3 x a day. So tomorrow will be my full day of taking this Hysingla hydrocodone 40mg.(9-30). Am praying that something helps bc some of my family thinks I really don't need pain meds but they don't live inside of my body. I've been in pain since 2012.Read More Read Less

The first time I took it, I felt no difference. The second night was absolutely horrible. It felt like my feet were on fire. Restless legs really bad. When I called my doctor, they said I needed to give it 7-10 days. I suffered for 13 days. Couldn’t get off of the couch or even out of the bed. The pain got so bad. I’m going to switch back to regular hydrocodone. I do not recommend this medication.

Dr switched me from Embeda to Hysingla. Within 48 hrs I started having really high BP & almost all the other symptons of withdrawal. Pain Dr says I DONT have withdrawal by just switching-well what does he know?? He's not the one writhing in pain for 4 or 5 days & then tells me he can see me in 48 hours-absolutely ridiculous

It takes hours before it starts working, then it only lasts about 6 hours. I spent the other 18 hours crying in pain because my dr didn't believe me.

I was taking 10/325 Hydrocodone tabs about every 4 hours (that's 8 10mg tabs every 24 hours). after a year i started having problems taking as prescribed and falling about 20 pills a month short. So my Doctor but my on Hysingla er 100 mg tab every 24 hours. It made me feel horrible for basically the whole 24 hours. I don't know why it wasn't a "withdrawl" type of bad feeling which i have experience with , it was a mix of mood change , hangover , dizziness and didn't even do a better job with pain. It didn't seen to work evenly over a 24 hour period either. I my opinion if you are in the same situation just stick with the short term pills and maybe deal with 2-hours of withdrawl feelings over 24 hours of whatever hell-ish feelings that Hysingla offers. Worst month of my life on this drug. Worst pain I've felt in years, stops up my urine, rash and did not even touch my pain. Takes about 10 hrs. to kick in and doesn't help pain at all just makes you feel weird and miserable! I dissolved one in water to see how long it took to dissolve and it was around 9 to 10 hours, it swelled to the size of a .5" thick nickel. The consistency of it was like this sticky stringy glue. I would never ever take this again. NOT worth the money either, waste of money as a matter of fact.Read More Read Less

Totally unreliable for pain relief - Had to use just as many IR breakthrough meds as before ; Unpredictable in it's action - caused me to pass out in the middle of the day the day AFTER taking it, which is dangerous if I'm driving when it does finally "kick in" ; Extremely difficult to swallow, as well. Very costly: $500 for a month's supply...all of it adds up to a completely useless and expensive medication that does more harm than good.

Found this medication, took a long time to start working. Also ,felt it was hard on my organs. Much rather take a pain medication 3 times a day. Better relief

I have been taking hydro 10/325. Now hyslinger 30. What does the 30 mean as regarding to the 10/mg in hydro? Is it safe to take hyslinger 30. Is this dosages higher than the hydro 10/325?

My Dr prescribed Hysingla er 20mg, 1 daily with hydrocodone 7.5/325 for breakthrough pain. The Hysingla worked great and I seldom had to take extra hydrocodone. The only problem is the price, over $400 for 30, 20mg pills. Why so expensive? I will go back to Norco.

This medication only has any kind of pain relief 15 hours after you have taken it and that moderate relief only lasts 6 hours. It should not be rated as a 24 hour solution for pain. I would rather just take 3 10 mg norco"s a day that would give good predictable relief.

Due to the political debate I was moved from morphine 30 mg to this in 40 mg. I have really been in severe pain the past 3 months I have been on this. But reading these reviews give me hope that maybe they will increase it to a better dose to maybe help me from 8 to 9 pain.

I started at 20 mg and slowly moved up to 100 mg. I now rarely have to take anything else for breakthrough pain. It has made made a big difference in pain control. The important thing is for your doctor to get you up to your effective dose and to give you enough medicine for breakthrough pain on your way up in dosage.

Dr. and I were looking for an alternative to taking Norco so many times a day, we decided to go with Hysingla (80 mg). I love it! Very little break out pain. Now my insurance (Medicare) I was paying 35 per month. now in my donut hole stage and the cost jumped to 788$ to 1600$. How sad. Meds that actually do a job and the drug companies put the cost out rageous... Now I go back to taking 6-8 pills daily for pain. Very disappointed in the cost for scripts that actually do what they are meant to do, without having to pop 6 or more pills a day just to get thru the pain.Read More Read Less

Switched by doc from morph er 15mg. On Hyslinga ER 20mg for a few days and in more pain than using the morph. At this level it just isn't working. Now I'll have to suffer thru the month till I can see the doc again. The breakthru med will have to keep it from being excruciating. Not sure if he'll up the dosage or not will see. Very disappointed although its nice not having to take morph 3 times a day.

Lower dosages did not work at all. Higher doses took 2-3 hours before I could feel any pain relief, which was barely noticeable, and of which began to wear off after the 4th hour. So, a 24-hour pain medication, for me, was not any better than a med I would have to take 4-6 times a day. It also caused more pain in areas where I previously had no pain!
