I am a 51 yr old female & before I was diagnosed I felt like I was 90. I shuffled, had inner & outer tremors, loss of balance, light incontinence, severe body aches & pains & was tired all the time. The meds were like a miracle. I felt like I got my life back. Almost all of the symptoms have gone away. I still feel tired a lot but mostly its because I feel better & push myself to do too much.

I was prescribed a month ago from 2 25-100 tablet to 3 tablets every 8 hours. First it looks OK, later I felt weaker and head swelling, not comfortable to have more sleep hours as I have to kept calm, what happens? I don't know what's my doctor going to say when my next visit. I do not come across constipation with my toilet but recently found blood in my urine. Is that severe? I have hand tremor on both but very clear in mind. After took this medicine I feel no improvement. I did brain and neck MRI but found nothing wrong. Nothing in particular. Read More Read Less

After switching from Bromocriptine to this med. I wasn't initially impressed - however I read that high protein intake or levels in the blood reduce the efficacy. I began to notice that days of bacon and egg for breakfast (2 strips thick sliced), meat sandwich for lunch and meat at dinner I was twitching like a fish on a hook. I went one day w/o any protien and by late afternoon my tremors were barely noticable. Next day moderate to small protien intake and meds worked great. Next day ended up eating a double cheeseburger for supper and by bed time I was jittery, twitching and sore. Never again! Printed out a list of foods from low to high in protien and use as a guide. Much better without high protien diet!Read More Read Less

Took 1/2 tab carbidopa50/levodopa 200 for four nights in a row, for restless legs. Very dizzy and groggy today. Have also noted discoloration of stool, previously attributed it to beets several days ago.

I feel human again. The spasms are suppressed. I feel sleepy, but I sleep through the night now, which did not happen before. I am refreshed in the morning. The sleepyness is worth the benefit.

My 86 yr. old father has been taking this medication for 17 months when diagnosed with Parkinsons. He's up to four a day now. Up until two weeks ago we would give him the pills with his meals. I read on this website that when they are first put on this medication it should be given with meals to cut down on the nausea. But, then give them to him two hours after eating as the proteins in food can block the effectiveness of the pills. We did that two weeks ago and he is so much better! Was he not getting the full benefits of the medication all that time we were giving it to him with food? It seems so. The other change we made (thanks again to this website and the reviews) is to put his Exelon Patch for the dementia on before he goes to bed instead of in the morning. He stays awake all day now and sleep peacefully all through the night (without hallucinations all night).Read More Read Less

I am taking this medication for restless leg syndrom, it has worked for me at first but it is slowly starting to be less useful as time goes on i started out taking 100 mg 1X a day now I have to take 100mx a day. I may need to try another medicine. It may work for other conditions.

I had RLS plus similar crawling sensations in my upper body at night. This drug has almost completely relieved those symptoms, without the dizziness I got during the day from using Mirapex.
