Simply the BEST for severe nausea and vomiting. Works like MAGIC - take one, lay down and sleep for a few hours (this will make you sleepy!) and wake up feeling much much better. Wish more Dr's would prescribe this one.

I am reviewing this for the experence of my 22 year old daughter. She had some very scary side effects of this drug and ended up in the emergency room. She became confused, her vison was blured and she had great difficulty looking down or to the side. Her eyes wanted to continually look up. Her tongue was pressing toward the back of her mouth and continued to spasm. Her jaw pulled hard to the r...

Post anesthesia nausea vomitting. If you are a lightweight after anesthesia, this is the medication. I have never understood why anyone would order an oral med for nausea and vomitting. Pop this in, and within 30 minutes the nausea is gone and you are thenjoying able to take much needed fluids and pain meds. Be aware of the side effects. SoMe of the negative reviews are allergic reactions that everyone should watch for whenever taking a new medication. I am a patient and a caregiver (RN)

I suffer from migraine head aches and nausea and vomiting. The only medication that has worked 100% of the time is compazine. The only side affect that I had was being sleepy. I took it orally or rectally. I would definitely recommend this medication. It made the migraine and nausea and vomiting go away fast. Especially if I took it rectally, which took 10 to 20 minutes to work completely. Not every physician uses this medication for migraine!!

This drug was prescribed to me after I had my impacted wisdom teeth removed and I had uncontrolled vomiting. Within minutes of taking one suppository, I experiences severe muscle spasms in my jaw which tore my stitches. I began shaking all over and my muscles froze up as my body contorted. I could not speak or think clearly and bleeding increased. I was rushed to the ER and an oral surgeon on-call gave me Benadryl through and IV. I was told that I could have died. I have never let my children or other family members receive this drug. I believe it should be taken off the market. I take many different meds and normally tolerate meds well.Read More Read Less

After taking this medication for two days I experienced the following reaction: 1. My jaw locked shut and bottom of jaw locked to the right side 2. My hands clamped shut in a fist 3. My toes bent down 4. I became extremely paranoid 5. My blood pressure dropped significantly All of these effects happened involuntarily. I was only 19 years old when this happened. My doctor prescribed this medication for nausea. I had no idea how strong this drug was or that it was an antipsychotic medication. I was so scared and had to go to the ER. I thought that I was going crazy! I was given a huge injection of benadryl. For years after, I experienced tremors- not sure if there is a correlation but I never had them before this happened. This medicine should not be used unless absolutely necessary and should never have been prescribed for mild nausea. Read More Read Less

I use the rectal ones when I am so nauseas that I cannot even swallow water or bite a cracker. It calms my stomach after awhile and I am finally able to take my migraine medication without vommiting. Works well when I do not get a warning of a headache. If I get a warning, I am able to take the pills and my headache medication at the same time and I am ahead of the game. It is a great remedy if you cannot take medication to prevent migraines such as imitrex. I have severe hypertension and not able to take some preventative medication. Therefore, if you need a cure Compazine is it. Read More Read Less

She became confused, her vison was blured and she had great difficulty looking down or to the side. Her eyes wanted to continually look up. Her tongue was pressing toward the back of her mouth and continued to spasm. Her jaw pulled hard to the right, then her mouth opened uncontrolablly as far and hard as it could. She could not talk through much of the jaw and mouth episodes. The last symptom was a spasm of her neck, she again uncontrolably tilted her head back as far as it could go, the front of her neck was taunt. Thankfully she was given an IV with Benadryl that releived all symptoms. Her face and neck were sore the next day. She started taking this medication on Monday and had no symptoms untill Wednesday. For that reason the permedics did not think it was from compazine. ER doctor said it was not allergic reaction rather a side effect. This medication should be prescribed with STRONG CAUTION.
