Started taking Diclofenac 75 mg EC twice a day for shoulder pain. It not only eliminated my shoulder pain, I no longer have knee pain and even my bunion is less bothersome! After about 3 weeks, I thought I would reduce to once a day and then stop taking it altogether, but the pain in my knees and shoulders quickly returned. Doesn't stop the pain at all. Gives me indigestion at night so bad I can't sleep. Makes me constipated. All in all, I don't like this drug and won't take it anymore. I've tried twice and that was enough for me!

I was initially prescribed Arthotec which is a combination of diclofenac and misoprostol. After taking it with great relief, I could no longer get Arthotec at my pharmacy and was told to continue with diclofenac but that it was VITAL that I take it with misoprostol in order to protect my stomach. I've been on this now for 8 years with no side effects. It is a life saver!!

I have hip issues. This helped quite a bit when I started it 3 months ago. Don't think it is working well now. Not many stomach issues for me. On 75mg, twice a day. Not sure if they can bump it up.

I have taken this drug off & on as needed for shoulder bursitis for the past 6 years. It doesn't work well until the 2nd or 3rd day, but then all my pain is gone & mobility returns. It doesn't make me sleepy or any of the other side effect of the other meds I've tried. The only issue is the stomach/intestinal pains if taken without food. If taken with food - no problems, no side effect & best of all - NO PAIN!!!

75mg twice a day, taken for 3 days now to relieve arthritis in my hands. So far the pain is lessened but not enough for me to say this is "the answer" to my arthritis. I do have a bit more gas though.

I have been taking this for nearly 10 years. My doctor checks my kidneys and liver quite often and so far, so good. I also have not had any stomach issues, either. However, this last batch is causing me huge stomach issues, so I came out here to make sure what she gave me is enteric-coated and not the regular. I've been taking the EC for all this time with no stomach pains, and now that I have stomach pains for the first time I am wondering what I have!

Slight relief in knee pain, (waiting on Knee replacement, but because I am only 52, they want me to wait as long as possible.) MAJOR edema - to the point it was very concerning. Had to stop taking it.

I've had knee pain for about 8 months. After 4 months of stretching, ice, heat, 8 Advil/day, I finally went to get a cortisone shot. Sadly it didn't work for me very well..it took 2 months before I was able to walk pain free. I had 3 weeks of no pain and then tweaked my knee again, back to Dr. waiting on MRI but until then gave me 2 week supply of 75mg Diclofenac...after about an hour, the pain was blunted! The next day I could walk without limping! I was stunned to say the least and mad at myself for suffering unnecessarily. Now, I research everything I take and it clearly states this medicine is not a forever cure. Something is still wrong with wherever you are hurting! Use caution and enjoying being pain free until you are completely diagnosed. JMO Good luck to all in pain! Read More Read Less

Helped some with arthritis pain, but stomach discomfort was worse than the pain. Also, the warnings about possible liver and heart complications made me decide that this is not the type of pain "relief" for me.

I need a knee replacement, Ortho Dr suggested holding off until I'm 65, which is 7 years. He put me on Diclofenac Sodium ER 100mg to see if that worked to help put off the replacements. He wants liver and kideny tests after 90 days. Its working great so far, going to see if I can cut back to one every other day as Dr suggested. As others mentioned I am concerned about the potential issues with taking the drug. I'm not experiencing any side affects to date.
