I had clear skin my entire life until I hit the age of 21. Suddenly I had horrible acne all over my cheeks, jawline and around the sides of my mouth (at all times, not just during period). It was so bad that I rarely left my room, and I wouldn't even let my boyfriend see me unless the lighting in the room was extremely dim. Suddenly, I stopped hanging out with friends and couldn't even bare going...

I just started to take this medication about a week ago. I am noticing that I am very thirsty, tired and get headaches. Is this normal? I am on 50 mg tablets twice a day.

I have Roscea & this has helped extremely, I can actually touch my face. However I have no desire for sex, my clitoris actually feels bruised. I don't understand this. Please don't show this on the web. My Dr says this is normal, I want to go off of it cause of that but I don't want my face to look so horrible again. I don't know what else to do.

I've been using Aldactone for several years for acne w/ great results. Surprised to see so many others have also been prescribed it. Use for acne is never listed as one of its uses in journals and no healthcare professional has heard of this use (except for the one who prescribed it.) Only bad side effect for me is the peeing. Can't take it before road trips and have to get up once during sleep regardless of how much I've had to drink. Otherwise would highly recommend it. Don't use Accutain unless you truly have bad cystic acne. I was given Accutain prior to aldactone and my acne came back and on top of that I'm always hot ever since I took Accutain. It changed my internal body temp and it's awful being hot when all the other women are cold. What's up with that anyway? I can't stand all these cold girls. Go put on a sweater!Read More Read Less

I have been taking this med for almost a year. My acne has decreased dramatically although I get a couple of pimples at that time of the month. I can't think of any side effects I've experienced. I highly recommend it, but keep in mind all drugs work differently on everyone so listen to your body if you have any weird side effects

For treatment of acne, I have been using a 100mg dose for 7 years. No problem side effects at all. Realize that while the drug does increase urination, you can't skimp on water intake as a way to avoid this! The oil production on my skin is dramatically decreased therefore I my breakouts (mild and cystic) have stopped. I am definitely keeping spiro as part of my anti-acne program.

I was given this to assist in female hair loss along with topical rograine. I have had significant positive response with no side effects. It is important to take before 6pm to avoid having to urinate at night.

Prescribed for acne, concurrent with Retin-A. So far so good, but noticed one BIG problem: Whenever I work out, I experience dizziness and nausea. I never have had trouble with this before, and I understand that it is a blood pressure medication as well, but no one warned me that I would have to reduce my activity levels! It is hard to go 30 minutes on a bike now or 20 minutes on my rollerblades without wanting to throw up. Takes all the fun out of the activity. Watch out for this side effect!Read More Read Less

When I was first diagnosed with HBP my doctor prescribed hydrochlorazide along with Captopril. My potassium level was always too low, so another doctor changed me to Spironolactone and my potassium level is normal plus my HBP is normal.

I've been taking 100 mgs a day for at least 7 yrs for PCOS. I'm still having problems with acne and my dermatologist said it could be doubled but my Dr who prescribes it doesn't want to increase it. I've never noticed any side effects at 100 mgs per day. Any one take more than 100mgs a day for treatment of ance?

I have been taken this med for approx. 7 years with the exception of 1 yr inbetween, I was giving it for hirsutism , and it maybe slows it down a degree but that is about it , I can tell a difference when I am not taken it but my situation is out of control. I also have hight bp I take another med along w/this one for bp and have been doing this for 2 yr and it is still high.... there has to be another alternative
