The dr. prescribed this for my 4 yr. old. I was told he had a sinus infection. He had a bad cough and was wheezing so they gave him a breathing treatment at the drs. office. He did not have any side effects. His behavior did not change as stated in other reviews. He was also put on an antibiotic. I cannot say for sure if this medicinie helped his condtion, that's why I gave a low rating on effect...

My 18 mth old was prescribed this medication for the Croup. He took it at 5:30 pm & by 11:00 pm he was writhing ariund on the floor screaming & hitting us, which is VERY uncommon for him. My Dr. did not tell us that this could happen or else I never would have given it to him. My husband brought him to the ER at 11:45 pm thinking our son was hallucinating while I was at home worried sick. NOT WORTH IT!!! Use a humidifier & the steam from the shower!

Our 4 year old still had a bad double ear infection after seven days on meds. Our allergist recommended it, but said she would be "wild". She was upside down and hanging from everything for 6 days. She even put crackers up her nose! We trusted our doctors judgement and did the best we could with the crazy behavior.

Pirked my 19 month old daughter up from a virus almost instantly, as for the reaction... lets just say its 12:30 a.m., and she is runing around screaming and taking pictures of everything! Iv never seen this happen. its hard not to laugh, but im kind of upset that the doc. didnt say anything about it. Wont give again.

I have terrible swelling and pain in my fingers from arthritis. My fingers have nodes and are beginning to grow crooked. At times the pain is unbearable to even grip a steering wheel in the car. Prednisone is far more effective than a pain reliever. I am virtually pain free when I use Prednisone.

My 7 year old daughter has a severe case of eczema and this is the one drug that really helps her when she has a very severe flare up. It really helps the clear her skin and relieve most of the itching. It has really been a life saver for her. One thing though, since it is a steroid, I only use it as a last resort.

This drug helped my son recover from pneumonia quickly (4 day dose) but he was a totally different child while taking it. Very moody, agitated, and irritable. The drug was good but I will probably think twice next time before giving it to my children.

I'm on a 6-day treatment of Methylprednisolone for allergy indiced asthma. The stuff works great, but the side effects suck. When I was a kid, I had very bad asthma and was on prolonged treatment of a similar corticosteroid hormone. I started gaining weight like crazy, and it made me lathargic and moody. I'm 3 days into my current treatment, and I've already plumped up 3 pounds. I rarely miss a workout, and now I cannot motivate myself to even leave the house. But at least I can breath.

My doctor prescribed prednisolone (6-day Medrol Pak) in response to my complaint of worsening back pain due to L4-L5 bulged disks that I had been previously been addressing with exercise and occasional NSAIDs (Voltarin - diclofenac sodium). Although six days is a short time and I have no way of knowing how I'd have felt without the drug, it seemed far less effective than the NSAID. I will say, though, that I also did not experience any of the negative side effects mentioned on the package, such as upset stomach, nervousness, palpitations, etc. Each tablet being only 4 mg and there being only 21 doses in 6 days, I suppose that's not surprising. Anyway, glad to say tomorrow is the last day and I hope to switch back to NSAID and/or Tylenol until I can get back to just exercise.Read More Read Less
