I started out with a bp of about 250/190. Yikes, right? Especially for someone my age, which is 30. I was prescribed Lopressor two weeks ago and today my pressure was 140/92. Not perfect yet, I know, but wow! Furthermore, I used to have serious headaches that I attributed to migraine but I haven't had the first one since I started this medication. I have to say, I'm really pleased with my re...

Have been taking it for 3 years. Brought my BP down. I did notice I have trouble getting a high heart rate while exercising, so I don't take it until after exercise, around noon. That takes care of it. No other problems.

Tingling throughout body once started. Didnt lower blood pressure until additional meds were taken. If I forget it I feel really bad. Might be worth stopping just to feel normal again. I do not like it.

PROFUSE SWEATING, PROFOUND FATIGUE! CAN'T SLEEP! TROUBLE BREATHING: I'M SO GLAD I USE THE READER REVIEWS TO CHECK OTHER PEOPLE'S EXPERIENCES AND SIDE EFFECTS WITH "ALL" THE NEW DRUGS I AM PRESCRIBED! I, TOO, HAVE COPD, BUT IT HAS NOT STOPPED ME FROM PLAYING GOLF, WALKING WITH MY WIFE, AND LIGHT WORK AROUND THE HOUSE, ETC. RECENTLY STARTED ON NORVASC AND LOPRESSOR, AND ALL OF THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS OCURRED, AND CAUSED SOME OF MY OTHER PRE-NORVASC, LOPRESSOR PROBLEMS TO BECOME MORE ACUTE! I THOUGHT I MIGHT HAVE TO QUIT PLAYING GOLF, ETC. INSTEAD, I AM QUITTING THE NORVASC AND LOPRESSOR! I WILL TRY TO GET MY BP AND TACHY HEART BETTER THROUGH DIET AND MAYBE YOGA, OR OTHER LIGH EXERCISE! KEEP UP WITH THE COMMENTS ON READER REVIEWS! YOU MAY NOT REALIZE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERENCING THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND SIDE-EFFECTS AND BENEFIT FROM THESE SAME COMMENTS! P.S. ACUTE ABDOMINAL PAIN!Read More Read Less

Been on Lopressor for more than two years now. Started at 100mg daily, now at 200mg daily. I also take Azor, although I have recently learned you shouldn't mix a beta blocker with a calcium channel blocker. I recently had to have two stents placed in heart artery because of 90 percent blockage in two locations in same artery. I have a slow heart rate, a little shortness of breath and periodic mild dizziness. Super blood pressure, consistantly in the 115-120 over 60-70 range. Resting heart rate is in upper 50s to lower 60s. The only real complaint I have is that when I exercise, it's difficult if not impossible to get my heart rate up, which of course, creates an oxygenation problem. Tire easily. Will be talking to cardiologist today about this problem.Read More Read Less

I am in the hospital right now from this drug, lowered my heart rate to 35 this is it actually raised my blood pressure to over 200/150 I was very sick just that was just on a 12.5 twice a day dose, I haven't taken it for two day blood pressure is 95/65 heart rate back up to 65/75 this is a bad drug be very careful if your heart gets slow go to the doctor don't wait this could have become deadly for me this is not a joke.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this med. I'm on the lowest dose (25 mg, 2x daily). I was looking for reviews of it to see if anyone else is experiencing being very thirsty, and also having some muscle twitching at night. I'm experiencing both, but it seems like a small price to pay for lowered BP.

I began this medication about 6 weeks ago. Each time I have taken my BP since beginning the meds, it has been significantly lower. I have had NO side effects and my occasional headaches are gone. I am very pleased with this drug and my experience has been positive.

No one has discussed the # of times taken each day. I am on 25 mg 4 times a day. When I tried 50 mg it was too strong. My only concern is that I am taking 2 doses without food, which is recommended. Overall the experience with this drug has been OK.

I felt like it made my heart pound even worse than it did before I started and very tired, I missed a dose and thought i was going to have heart attack bp 157/94 palpations like crazy. Now on Tenormin see how that works anyone else have these reactions? It;s like it did the opposite of what was supposed to do.

Had a reaction to lisinopril, which I had been taking for 7 years. Dr. switched me to metropolol. I have been on this drug now almost a month and have had headaches, pains in my legs, dizziness, sleepiness, no energy and for the past 6 days have been experiencing chest pain. I know the pains are not from overwork because I'm to tired to do anything. Don't like the pills but don't know what else is out there.
