I started out with a bp of about 250/190. Yikes, right? Especially for someone my age, which is 30. I was prescribed Lopressor two weeks ago and today my pressure was 140/92. Not perfect yet, I know, but wow! Furthermore, I used to have serious headaches that I attributed to migraine but I haven't had the first one since I started this medication. I'm in the hospital now. I came in 2 nights ago with chest pains. They started me on Lopressor immediately. My blood pressure is now going UP and my fingers are swelling up.I now also get heartburn after I eat all meals. If the Dr. would show up I would speak to him about this, but silly me, it's Sunday.

I used this med for 11 days. My heart rate dropped to 60. Other symptoms included swelling of legs, exhaustion, SOB, and dizziness - to where I was stumbling. Went back to MD and was taken off this med and placed on a different med. BP did lower to an average of 158/85 but would go up to 165/100 while on med.

I was put on this drug after a mild heart attack and a stint was placed. I now have irregular heart beats, I think from the blood thiners I was put on. this drug makes me so sick, faint feeling, tired, I cannot even drive. dr. let me drop down to 1 25 mg pill at night, I feel ok now during the day, but my heart beat is very irregular, and am having some dizzey feelings from that. so I am not sure if I want to feel very bad and keep my heart rate regular or deal with the skiped heart beats. I see my dr. next week to discuss this. Read More Read Less

I have been taking this medication for 24 years now and am just now having issues with the dizziness and feeling light headed. Can't really say it has kept my blood pressure down. The last three years it has been up and down yet the Dr. doesn't want to change anything.

I have taken Lopressor 50 mg for 7 days and have been dizzy the entire time. I spoke with my doctor who told me to cut the pills in half to see if that would help. Has anyone else experienced persistent dizziness?

I have been on the medication since December 09. It is currently April 2010. Recently I am experiencing chest pai daily. Stress/ Echo was negative, as well as EKG"s and labs. Cardiologist is ordering a CT Angiogram to rule out blockage. I don't knoe if this is a correlation with the medication of if it could be a increased in GERD chest pain.
