I have familial high cholesterol and have had unexplained spikes in both my cholesterol and triglycerides. I can't tolerate statins so I was put on tricor 145 and have been on it for almost four months. I have had arm numbness, excruciating pain in all of my joint. I have insomnia due in part to the horrific pain in my back, legs, with arms that fall asleep for no reason. I stopped taking this awful drug yesterday, and I am feeling better. However, because of the pain I was given oxycodone which I will now have to be weaned off. Not to mention all of the dr bills that are piling up. This drug has made my life a living hell. No more cholesterol meds for me ever again. If you start to feel lethargic and groggy, or if you are in pain please call you dr. Read More Read Less

I am 36 and have been on Tricor for about a year now. I am so tired and find it hard to get through the day. I have had severe pains in my knee and went to the doctor and had a MRI which came back clear other than a slight narrowing of joint space. They put me on an anti inflamatory to see if that helps but the pain is so bad it is waking me up at night. I asked if it was from the medicine and they said no. Not sure of the exact cause off everything but I am worn out..... Any help/advice would be great.Read More Read Less

I have been on Lipitor 20mg. & Tricor 145 mg for a number of years. I am suffering so badly with joint, muscle pain and also LOW BLOOD PLATELETS which is a severe side effect of both Lipitor & Tricor. I also have a lot of the other side effects. I have stopped both as of 3-4-11 and will never go back on. I am taking Omega Q-Plus and watching what I eat and as soon as I can walk better, will do more exercising. I get my blood work done in 2 weeks. I'm hoping for the best.

I have been on this stuff for two solid days, taking it with a meal and full glass of water. I have had the worst indigestion/heartburn and pain for two days, all day. I think I will try and take it tomorrow night instead of morning, however, this miserable feeling that pepcid or prilosec will not take away is not worth it at all. I am miserable.

Saved my life! Trigs were over 10,000, now under 300 - and that's not a typo. Was introduced to this drug when in the hospital 11 years ago for pancreatitis and had only a 10 percent chance of surviving. Have not had any side effects from Tricor. Very grateful to my doctor and for this drug.

No side effects for me. Lowered my triglyceride somewhat. It's not a cure.

I have been taking Tricor for at least 15 years. My Trig's have not been near normal all this time. My current blood test showed 293 for trig levels. However, I have good cholesterol (hdl) is 64 with a 2.9 ratio. I am only slightly overweight (not obese), do not drink alcohol, but do like sweets now and again. I am a senior citizen and feel I deserve a piece of cake or pie now and then. I have a family history of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc.

I also had reflux for years until I started this. My doctor is happy with the results but puzzled about the side effect of no more reflux. I do experience some muscle soreness at times, but nothing that would make me stop taking it. I get blood work done every 6 months and after 3 years on 145 mg, I am doing well.

I take 135mg of this daily. I have noticed that after sitting for either a few minutes or longer periods of time, that I have a problem getting up..sitfness and soreness in the legs. When I take 1/2 of this table this appears to leave and I am almost back to normal condition. Why is this?
