As an intravenous medication it requires an additional solution such as Sodium Chloride or Dextrose to maintain venous stability and as a clotting preventative measure. In my case there appeared to be less side effects than use of Gammagard. However, it should be noted that side effects with the Gammagard may be due in my case to secondary condition related to sodium uptake issues. It was represented to me that the nanofiltering process for the Carimune was reputed to be safer. All IV drugs carry a risk of getting secondary problems including but not limited to Hepatitis, supposedly Kawasaki's Syndrome and potentially Non-hodgkins lymphomas. Pricing is comparable between Gammagard and Carimune (pricing fix potential) and note other in home products and including subcutaneous products are available as well as new liquid formulations which may need less infusion time which can take up to 4-6 hours per session under the supervision of a plebotomist or nurse or doctor. Nausea was the primary issue. Note up to 24 hours after infusion is critical for complications to present themsselves.Read More Read Less
