Tried pills, patches etc. This is the best solution yet BUT I wish they made a smaller version. I never had children so things are small down there. Most of the time.. no problem but before sex I have to take it out and remember to put it back later. If I don't take it out then climax causes muscle contractions that cause the thing to abrade the inside and make me bleed. A LOT. Taking it o...

Anyone else have issues inserting this thing? I’m not sure if it’s “in” far enough,I can feel it and I can’t imagine having intercourse with it in place. It’s huge and rigid. Doesn’t seem like it would be comfortable for man or woman!

It’s really BIG. I have to take it out for bowel movements. It’s much to large for me.

I have been using the Femring since around 2004 after having tried various HRT. This has been the best, it eliminated my hot flashes there is not vaginal atrophy, my libido has not changed and it is a route I do not have to think about. My only complaint is the price. We need a generic. I am a provider also and I have so many patients that could benifit from it but the copay is too high.

Before FemRing I used YuvaFem, which sort of worked but I was still having painful sex, UTIs and BV. Since FemRing all that has resolved but I feel like I'm having PMS all day, every day. Before FemRing I was post menopausal and pretty laid back, this new crazy self is unacceptable. I've always been very sensitive to birth control pills, couldn't take them for the same reason. I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop using FemRing.

This product is amazing. It reversed vaginal dryness and atrophy to the point that I feel like Iâ??m 25 again. Seriously. No more hot flashes and I can sleep through the night again. Inability to stay asleep (not due to hot flashes) was my worst symptom of menopause. This is resolved. Expensive but totally worth it.

When the femring was inserted it did help with vaginal atrophy and did make sex with my husband more enjoyable. However, because I have problems with IBS the ring would fall out because of the abdominal contractions that come with severe constipation and then subsequent diarrhea. I stopped using the product because the ring would break and fall out of the vagina This happened three times. The final two times were within a couple weeks of each new ring. The drug company was concerned with this and they did replace the first ring that was damaged. When the second ring broke two weeks later, I asked my physician to discontinue the femring and switch to a vaginal cream instead. As I stated earlier I have a medical condition that I initially thought was part of the problem, however when the second ring broke two weeks later I became frustrated and requested to use a cream instead. I would have been satisfied with the femring because it was initially so easy and convenient to use, but with several damaged products I decided for me, a change was needed. By all means try this product first. Hopefully your success will be greater than mine.Read More Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about Femring. it has eliminated dryness, atrophy, and hot flashes. My libido and lubrication are like I'm 25 years old again. The only complaint I have is that it is not on my insurance formulary and costs me almost $300 out of pocket. My husband says it's well worth it!

I am on the .1mg dose ring. Within hours of insertion of the first ring, I went from a crying, anxiety-ridden, dry-eyed mess to feeling more "normal" than I had in many months. Although it is supposed to last for 3 months, it didn't for me and my gynecologist said that she writes on the script to change every 2 months for almost all her patients. It cured my vaginal atrophy quickly. I just wished that the ring lasted longer and was more affordable. I went to the femring because I stopped absorbing from the estrogen patches and the spray wasn't strong enough. Also, it is a steady dose of estrogen so you don't wake up with a panic attack (those of you who are going through menopause know what I am talking about). The first few days you might feel MORE hot flashes, etc, but that is just because your body is reacting to the fluctuation in hormones (getting more estrogen). Stick with it as this settles down in days and you will feel so normal you won't believe it!Read More Read Less

Like other reviewers I've never been pregnant & am a petite person. Wish these were smaller, hello! Anyway I need estrogen for hot flashes/low libido/vaginal atrophy. Took oral HRT for 5 yrs then bio-identical creams for another 5, both worked great. REALLY loved the testosterone cream effects but my cardiologist said STOP ASAP! it's crazy dangerous. So went without any HRT for a year... symptoms just too horrible. On my 2nd Ring now, cost is $100 w/insurance, seems alot since stroke/etc. risks are supposedly lower... ? I'm using .5 dosage, within days hot flashes gone. No longer feel it in there since vaginal atrophy abated. Just hope I don't get any blood clots or other bad side effects other than a little clear discharge. Overall: thumbs up.Read More Read Less

I have surgical menopause at age 39. I have never had children. This ring did not work for me. I left in over 48 hours had severe side effects such as pain and pressure in abdomen, headaches, severe pain. Whoever designed this ring was not thinking of a different size for women who have not had children. I had to go to the doctor to have them remove it because it was so painful. I too wasted money on this prescription. There has got to be a better choice. Do not try this if you have never had children, it was the worst pain ever.Read More Read Less

My doctor prescribed this as a more consistent alternative to what I had been using -- to treat vaginal dryness and severe hot flashes and sweats. Unfortunately, I had to pay almost $200 for what turned out to be an experiment! Although I had inserted the ring perfectly, it was extremely uncomfortable, causing pressure on everything around it. I felt like I was on the verge of cramping the whole time -- like a dull, constant ache in my lower abdomen. I left it in for 48 hours, because I wanted to give it a change. The estrogen dosage seemed to be perfect -- it completely got rid of my terrible hot flashes/sweats, but didn't do too much for the dryness. While it was great hormonally, it was somewhat difficult to remove (it had hooked over something, probably the cervix), and constantly uncomfortable when worn. I can't even imagine being able to have sex with this thing in place. Ow. Anyway, I'm disappointed that I paid almost $200 AFTER INSURANCE to "try" this ring for 2 days. There ought to be a better way. I'm going back to a cream.Read More Read Less

I have been using prescribed estrogens for several years now and find this one to be very effective and easy to use. I had a complete hysterectomy at a fairly young age and need to maintain my estrogen levels. This has been one of the most effective means I have tried and it also is a natural form of estrogen not a synthetic form that I prefer to avoid.

I suffered from vaginal atrophy and severs vaginal dryness that made intercourse painful and consequently infrequent. FemRing changed all this for the better. The only complaint I have is the drop-off after about sixty days until you re-insert a new one. My mood changes come back and it is evident the estrogen has diminished. Still, it is the best HRT I have experienced.

When I first used the ring, the vaginal atrophy disappeared and sexual intercourse became pleasurable again. the ring was uncomfortable, though. it felt too big and pressed on my bladder giving me the feeling of needing to urinate all the time. Those feelings got better but still I was always aware that the ring was there, slightly uncomfortable. After Inserting the second ring, I started having bleeding after sexual intercourse and had a very disturbing discharge. I finally went to the doctor and was given clindamycin to treat a vaginal bacterial infection. I was told that the Femring had caused erosion in my vaginal wall and it was removed immediately. the dosage was too high for me and the ring was too big for me.... I have been given vaginal cream now to help with the dryness. hopefully, this works. I loved that the Femring gave me sexual pleasure again but understand that every person is different and in the end, it did not work for me. Read More Read Less

I had a partial hysterectomy at 35 and then my ovaries removed 4 years later. I tried everything but until I discovered the Femring, there were no answers! I had hot flashes, dry vagina (sex was miserable) and I always felt "off." Once I discovered the Femring and started using it, everything changed. No more hot flashes, sex is incredibly fun again...I'm 55 years old and I have the sex drive I had at 25. I am thrilled with the results; I have an active sex life; my boyfriend says that he can feel the ring occasionally but never enough to bother him and I never know it's in, except that intercourse is never uncomfortable anymore! Greatest thing ever invented!Read More Read Less

I tried low-dose patches but they always fell off. I have been on Femring 0.5 mg. for 4 months. I just removed the Femring because I am breaking out all over my chin and feel very nervous - almost, but not quite like drinking too much coffee. I think I'll go back to the lowest strength patch and figure out some way to keep it from falling off.
