I have only been taking this for 24 hours, but so far, so good. I started off with a stomach "bug" which my doctor believes is food poisoning. My illness caused about 3 days of nausea, vomiting (24 hrs), extremily loose bowels/ diarrhea, fever. When I saw the doctor on day 3, the vomiting and diarrhea had stopped, but I still had a persistent fever and nausea and had not had any type of bowel movement for about 24 hours. I took the first dose around 9:00pm and was able to eat a few crackers and pasta without too much in terms of nausea. I woke up at 3:00am with diarrhea, then at 4am, 5,am, 6am, and stayed in the bathroom between 7 and 9am. When the diarrhea stopped at 9:00am, I had my first real appetite in about 4 days. I ate a full bowl of oatmeal... which is the most I've been able to eat at one meal in days. Throughout the day, I've noticed that my energy is definitely up, I don't feel nauseous, and I am able to eat food. The only downsides are that I am thirsty and I have a LOT of foul-smelling flatulence, which compared to my earlier symptoms, is not extraordinary. My fever is also gone. Read More Read Less

because i still was sick

taking 500 twice a day for 14 weeks...... Today is the first day and I feel like I am lost and sentences are hard to put together sometimes.... and typing near impossible. I dont like it already but it is coupled with belladonna-phenobarbital

Cipro ordered by doctor for high body temperature, backache, and body chills for couple of weeks. Dr. consider potential urinary tract problem noted above. But after taking Cipro by Ivax Pharm. problems lessened, but severe joint pains, swollen joints in hands, and feet started. also severe headache commenced and has to rush to emergency room and hospitalied. Cipro stopped and later in three days issues lessened and resolved to some what.

Excellent results! I did not have a big appetite but I need to lose weight so no biggie here. Did seem to clear bladder retention problems, which I suspected for some years now that conventional doctors did not believe bacteria could cause such cystitis problems, had this bladder issue for 10+ years and 1 1/2 week dose cured too many years of not being able to empty my bladder!!!!

this medicine used to work great when i had a UTI, the last time i used it i experienced some severe side effects: migraine headache, myalgia, joint pain, shooting pains in my feet and legs, fatigue, dizziness, confusion and itchy palms. i will never use this medication again, i have also heard about individuals having similar experiences with levequin. i only hope the side effects subside, i've had them for 3 days, they are not pleasant.

There seems to be a mistake in your description as milk and dairy products are not to be taken with this medicine...I just started taking it.

I was given cipro 250mg for 7 days, then 500mg for 2 days then leviquin 500mg fo rone day all for uti back pain and upper abnominal pain so severe. Chest burning arms burn and tingle. Horrible drug. there should be a law suit

It works, but a little to slow for me.

Currently taking 1-500 mg tablet 2x a day for a kidney infection. This medication really works at taking care of the infection; within 3 days I started feeling much better. However, I am experiencing unpleasant side effects--nausea, dizzyness, and extreme tiredness. The side effects aren't debilitating...the infection was. I've returned to work and am able to function relatively normally but can't wait until I'm done taking these pills so I can feel "normal" again.

I now have thrush

I am glad to read so many people have been helped using this med. My quality of life has been deeply affected by this medicine. It's interaction with another prescription caused me to have congestive heart failure. I was hospitalized 2x and now suffer with lymphedema due to the strain on my system. Be very cautious when taking this strong medicine

i went to doctor for uti infection,and i allways get uti infections.took my first dose of cipro,and made my stomach fill like some one punched me,and had a pounding heart,dont know if heart pounding was just my mind,will never ever take this again!

my doc only prescribed 3 pills for 3 days I had a very very bad infection. It's all gone i'm feeling good.

Had somache aches and constipation. Don't remember that before. Is there another drug that is stronger and quicker? This was a 7 day period

500MG x2daily for 10days Symptoms of illness retreated quickly. However my returned apetite, everything I eat becomes diarhia. Also I'm very weak. Direct sunlight makes my skin feel like it were splashed with acid. Unpleasent yet effective. The side effects havn't ended yet- can't wait till its completely out of my system.

nausea, vomiting, diarreah, stomache pain

My UTI was fairly advanced, I took the Cipro and there seemed to be no change in the symptoms. By the third day it seemed to be getting better and by about the fifth day it was well on it's way to being gone. There was no nausea or diahrrea that I had experienced with other antibiotics.

I took this for a UTI. It worked well (500 x2 daily) My problem is now, feeling weak and tired, legs are really weak at times. Its been three weeks since I took it. Is this normal?

I was queasy the whole time I took this medicine. I also felt very tired. I was on 500mg for 7 days. It was hard to take this medicine constantly because of my schedule i would have prefered something that didn't take as long to work.
