I've taken this medication for a rectal infection.After four days I was having extreme burning during and after each bowel movement inside my rectum.And I really mean extreme burning!!!I stopped taking this medication 24 hrs ago and i still have this side effect.I called my doctor and he's going to prescribe me something else.The pain I felt from this medication is many times worse then the pain from the bacterial infection I had.But it appears the infection is gone.This drug is not for me.

I am being treated for a bladder infection & diverticulitis. The pain stopped in 3 days.

PRESCRIBED FOR UTI AND BLOOD IN URINE. HAVE TAKEN 2 OF THE 6 TABLETS PRESCRIBED AND I FEEL A WORLD BETTER, ALTHOUGH MY RIBS SEEM TO FEEL BRUISED. KIND OF LIKE IF YOU EXERCISED TOO MUCH. NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED, BUT DID START A DAY AFTER I STARTED RX. THIS SIDE EFFECT IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE UTI THOUGH.

i had acute pain in lower left abdomen and couldnt eat anything for 2 days. after taking this drug for only 2 days i was much improved and by the 3rd day on it had no pain and was eating normally again. i didnt have any side effects at all, but i drank a lot of liquids while i was on it.

I was almost constantly nauseated while on this medicine, and had some muscle pains which may or may not have been related...however I only had to take it for a week and it cleared up my infection, so I guess it does get the job done.

I'm on three days at 250mg twice a day. It's really so much nicer than the other antibiotics that take a week. If the idea of small side effects (low grade fever, tiredness etc.) doesn't bother you and you want something to work quick this is the stuff!

I was given this med for a UTI. Within the first 8 hours I felt horrible, it made me agitated, depressed, nauseaus, disoriented, etc. I continued the medication for 2 days and felt worse and worse. My doctor did not explain these as possible side effects but after researching the drug on the internet I found Cipro to be the cause. I felt SEVERLY depressed something that is completely foreign to me! I would suggest asking your doctor to fully explain the side effects of this drug before taking it, or better yet ask them to prescribe something else all together! I did contact my doctor and they advised me to stop taking the medication immediatley and perscribed something different, so if you are feeling any of these symptoms I def suggest contacting your doctor. Every time I have been advised to use this drug my UTI's have come back within weeks. It has been completly ineffective for me

I have frequent UTI's and this seems to work quickly & effectively!

Started 2 days ago for sinus/ear infection. Slow response compared to other meds I have used for same condition. Sinus's are physically uncomfortable and I have low grade headaches.

takeing this to much lowers the chances of it working!

MD prescribed for UTI. I experience these side effects; dizziness, low grade fever, cough, sore throat, burning sinuses, stomach cramps and diaherra. I was only had 6 pills at 250 mg so I can't imagine what more or a heavier dose would cause. Would not take ever again.

This drug is strong! I took the 750mg for a UTI. After my first dose, my symptoms started fading. However, the first day, I was incredibly tired and a bit nauseous. I recommend taking this with a small bit of food (non-dairy) to prevent the nausea.

This is a nasty drug to take and having had to take 1 500 mg. dose twice daily it had a very bad effect on my stomach as well as muscular and tendon problems. I am now suffering with a ruptured tendon in my foot as a result of this drug. I hope to never have to take the drug again.

On the third day of taking cipro, I started feeling weird. My cough cleared up, but had a hard time holding a thought and completing sentences. Called the doctor to request a different antibiotic.
