I started taking Celexa 20mg (generic citalopram, its a lot cheaper) The first week of August this year. I was diagnosed with Major Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I take it once a day at night (with food to diminish any possible gastrointestinal side effects). I am feeling 100% better than I did just a few months ago. I could not be more satisfied with the outcome. Before, I could no...

This medication has worked well for me. I take one dose a day for anxiety. However, a downfall to this may be the weight gain over time. I feel the medication causes faster weight gain than without it. It is important to get lots of exercize while on this medication.

This drug made me feel so much worse. I felt like I was on hardcore drugs. Not a good one at all.

I have been taking 60 mg of this drug since I was 17. I have tried about every antidepressent out there and this one seems to control the manic downswings the best.

I'm taking 20mg for General Anxiety Disorder and depression. It has helped with my anxiety and the physical problems as a result of my untreated anxiety. Migranes and IBS are much better. Although I still have some anxiety from time to time this has overall improved my stress. I had some side effects in the beginning but they soon went away. My Dr says this is the best for non-weight gain but I think I still have to watch what I eat and exercise or I could put on weight. I think a little more weight is better then the anxiety and stress.Read More Read Less

I have gained weight since I've been on celexa but it has helped,w/my depression and night sweats. But I do not like the weight gain that has come w/it.I started w/20mg. and now I take 40mg.The main reason I started it was in 2006 I had a total hysterectomy and was put on it for my hot flashes and it worked and it also helped w/ all the crying and snapping at my children I was doing. But lately I feel like it is doing the job that it once did.

THE 'ONLY EFFECTIVE ANTI-DEPRESSANT,' (I've taken many) that DIDN't have REALLY BAD SIDE-EFFECTS! I'm om 40mgs. / day & it seems BETTER THAN the 20mgs. It's ben 9 WEEKS> since I STARTED CELEXA> BUT, the 'PANIC ATTACKS STILL HAPPEN!'

I take celexa in the morning, remeron at night. Works pretty well, though I still get the blues. I enjoy the vivid dreams celexa causes.

Worked great, had a little nausea for a week when first taking, mild also when missing a dose. Stopped working after about 3 years and had to switch to Lexapro.
