I have multiple herniated discs, Degenerative disc disease (DDD), and multiple bone spurs along with arthritis and osteoarthritis thru-out my spine. I have been taking narcotic pain meds for years. I have also done PT in yrs past with little improvement, although I do incorporate some of the more effective methods daily. Due to all of this I have a lot of muscle spasms, especially in my neck and s...

My dentist prescribed this medication for TMJ headaches resulting from dental procedures. I had tried other muscle relaxers and even Percocet, with no relief. I took 750mg of Robaxin and my headache, as well as back pain from fibromyalgia were completely gone in less than an hour! I would highly recommend this medication for TMJ.

I'm taking 750 mg three times daily for severe muscle spasms due to Fibromyalgia, Spinal Stenosis, and spinal arthritis. I'm finding I'm quite sedated, and experiencing stomach upset from this med. I'm not very happy with thus drug at all. Having read previous comments, I'm very well hydrated. I drink at least 3 liters water daily, so I know it's not dehydration.

I have scoliosis and DDD along with other chronic pain conditions. I had taken Flexeril in the past and it seemed to work a little and it did not make me extremely drowsy. Well I changed doctors due to moving and my new doctor insisted this medication would work better and not make me drowsy. Well he complete opposite happened..I can barely function due to feeling like a zombie plus the spasms are still occurring. Not happy!

I've taken this medication in the past a few times, but I just got prescribed to take it again for muscle spasms resulting from sciatica. Right now I can take 1-2 500mg tabs up to 3x/day as needed for pain, so basically up to 3g a day. Honestly, friends of mine that have tried this medicine in the past have told me it doesn't work for them, but it always has for me. It really does ease the sharpness that comes with muscle pain. Sometimes, the pain is completely eliminated, and it makes my body feel very comfortable without making me feel loopy. I am, however, a former daily drug addict, so I imagine that I have a tolerance to that type of side effect in CNS depressants. Speaking of that, too, I was given Robaxin in the hospital when I went to detox off of opiate drugs. Honestly, 1000mg of Robaxin in combination with all the other sedating drugs they give you to improve symptoms of the absolute real-life nightmare that is opiate withdrawal, was very helpful in my experience. I remember being able to lie down in my bed very comfortably as a result of the Robaxin. It is quite sedating I will say, especially if you're new to it, so just remember that and exercise caution. Other than that, if you give it a chance, Robaxin is definitely an effective muscle relaxant. I prefer it to Flexeril, personally.Read More Read Less

I have spondylolisthesis of my L4 over my L5 and Adult Degenerative Scoliosis. My dosage is 1000mg (2x500mg) every twelve hours. This combined with Diclofenac Sodium 75mg (every twelve hours), has completely discontinued all pain that I had. And I had been taking 800mg of Ibuprofen four times a day, which wasn't touching the pain. I have had no side effects other than occasional drowsiness and I'm happy to be pain-free for over six months now. And happy that I can actually move around again and with no pain.Read More Read Less

I took Robaxin one day, 2 doses, for headaches. The next morning I experienced flu-like symptoms along with a severe spinning sensation. I could not walk and vomited profusely for 4 days. I have never been so ill in my entire life.

1500 mg three times a day. Chronic lower lumbar muscle insufficiency resulting from childhood polio. It does not completely relieve pain but has greatly diminished nocturnal muscle spasms. It is consistently effective, and in my case, far better than other prescription muscle relaxants.

I've been taking Robaxin for pain following a lung biopsy. It's working well, but I suddenly find myself with occasional urinary incontinence. Could this be a side effect? I'm taking 750mg every six hours most days.

After 3 days of only taking 1or 2 tablets a day, my tongue felt odd. at the 7 day mark my tongue and lips started burning. By day 8 about 20 minutes after taking it the eyes lips mouth, and back started burning bad swelling. They I started coughing blood. Ended up in the ER and now have an Epipen. My shoulder looks like a sunburn and is peeling. It got rid of the neck pain but now almost 10 days later out of now where I still get attacks, but they are getting less and less.

I used this for a month years ago with no relief. As my problems have worsened and changed, I am willing to try it again. I pick it up once again tomorrow. I am hoping I don't get nauseated which rarely happens to me from anything or have an allergic reaction. For those of you with those type of reactions, I would get off the medication and ask for something else. You could go into anaphalactic shock Heavin forbid. Flexiral has not worked for me (made me sleepy was all) but 8 mg. of Zanaflex (another muscle relaxant) only at bedtime used to help for 6 to 8 hours. It no longer helps and I was on it for 10 years. I heard Soma was good but highly addictive. As I am on a large dose of Roxicodone for breakthrough pain and a morphine-based long-acting med every 12 hours I prefer to stay away from additional medications with addictive tendencies. Good luck and good health to all of you suffering with pain. It's nice to see no comments by addicts, I guess this isn't the drug of choice for them. I have a close relative who is a hopefully recovering addict, so I'm not being a snoot. I prefer to read where there are true pain patients opposed to where abusing addicts post. Thanks to the forum moderators for that! JMHOWFWIW. Wish me luck with this second try of Robaxin. Read More Read Less

Given this drug during spinal fusion surgery. I had a severe allergy with a heavy rash all over my back, front, into my head, down the back of my legs. Also had severe breathing problems. The reaction was right up there with the surgery pain.

I was diagnose with cervical spondylosis after experiencing pain in my shoulder and fingers. the drug worked magic for me. I was revealed of the severe pain in my shoulder which made it impossible for me to even carry a ladies bag. the chronic pain is considerably down. interestingly the drug is relatively cheaper than other drugs I have tried and helps me have a good sleep. give it a try after consultation with your physician, it works.

I am calling the FDA and reporting this poison. It's the worst thing except for Morphene I have ever taken. I just got home from the hospital because of it's side effects. I've never sued anyone before but I am considering that now after 2 days in intensive care and 3 days in a regular room getting fluids and drugs to stop the nausia and vomiting, pain medication for an un-godly headach, and muscle spasams.

500 mg. for TMJ jaw muscle spasms. Even when I take two pills I can't tell any difference at all. Either this stuff doesn't work or I have alien body chemistry.

As far as pain relief the medication works great, but the side effect I had are horrible. After 4 days of taken the med. I woke up with a horrible headache,my face was swollen, my eyes half shut and blisters from the chin to the ears and up to my hairline. It hurts so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. But maybe it is not the medications fault, I take 7 other medications, plus I have a Implanted Morphine pump for the pain. I just wish I would not have this reaction, because the medication did relief the muscle spasm. Read More Read Less
