I took Plavix on 2 different occasions. I was put on the medication after my first heart stent took it for 1 yr. discontinued the medication. I took it again after another heart stent took it for another year I'm now currently not on the medication. I had no problems with plavix other than bruising very easily.

After taking this medication for 14 months I wound up bleeding from the large intestine and came very close to dying! I required 3 pints of blood and 2 saline solutions to get back to any resemblance to normal. This is a very dangerous drug that came awful close to killing me!

I have been on it for 4 months and so far it is working for me, I guess. I don't have any side affects. I am taking a flush free niacin supplement (1000 mg) with it. Does anyone know if that is a no no?

I was diagnosed with a blood clot disorder called hypercoagulability, which causes me to experience mini-strokes, TIA's. Since beginning this medication combined with an aspirin a day, I have had no signs or symptoms.

An additional side effect I experienced was that I became lactose intolerant shortly after starting the drug. I have talked to others on Plavix and they have also agreed that I may be a unreported side effect.

The Nician in the Plavix really gives me fits unless I have some Pectin with it. Makes me break out in a Hot Rash about an hour after taking the Plavix.

90% carotid artery blockage, surgery to remove blockage and put on Plavix in 2000. No reoccurance since but have been on Plavix continually since that time. My Dr took me off it on 11/15/07.
