Had celulitis on my leg very painful the leg was fire red. After three days of taking Keflex the inflammation and swelling went down. No side effects at all. Completely healed after two weeks. No better antibiotic for skin infection.

As soon as I started Keflex I had and still have erectile dysfunction

Took this med for a burn hand. Bad side effects including total fatigue,burning eye's and Some itching. stopped after 2 days and had new scrip written for me.

This drug is very dangerous. I had a relatively minor corrective operation on a toe and was given this presumably as a prophylactic to prevent post-op infection. 1st dose, 1 hour after food, within 30 minutes starting itching all over, hives, rapid heartbeat, tried to get up and passed out momentarily. Symptoms subsided within 30 minutes. There are too many other antibiotics out there to risk this. I am a very healthy 60 year old, allergic to penicillin and the doctor knew this. I get skin infections due to a genetic defect. Keflex is about the only antibiotic I can stay on (and not be nauseated or beet red) to prevent the infections

just started this for an abcess. I have read some reviews and they are scary. Z-pak worked for 3 days then I switched to this. Used Clindamycin for the same tooth 5 weeks ago from the ER and that was super. Hope this works ok. Took Amoxicillin before that for a root canal and that worked for 3 days. Z-pak at that time worked well. I guess its how bad the infection is. Tooth getting pulled next week. I,ve had enough.

caused kidney troubles

Within 24 hrs of first dose began having worst bladder spasms ever. Pain was intolerable. Doctor wasn't aware of any issues with Keflex causing this side effect. After two days of unbearable pain I discontinued it on my own and within 24 hours spasms subsided. I believe this is a rarely heard of side effect, but an extremely painful one for me.

I had a very deep & bad arm cut due to a bad scratch from a dog's claw. It appeared to be very infected. After two days, it appeared to be healing. After 7 days of Keflex, it was very much better. On the 10th day, only a good clean scab was present. Worked very well. I did experience stomach rumbling and gas & discomfort for about 4-5 days, but this eased the last half of the dosage cycle (10 days). It was very effective. Had an infection on my lower eyelid. Took this medicine and had the worst stomach pains ever (on the verge of tears). After just a couple of days I had to stop it was too unbearable. Also got a UTI.

I have an infection under my thumb nail (discolored, sore) which has lasted for 3 -4 weeks. This antibiotic doesn't seem to be working.

I was taking this because I got a Upper Respiratory Infection. I believe it might have cleared up the URI but I am not positive. The first few doses made me really dizzy and feel sick. I had some diarrhea but it was not to worry about. I was on day 3 of 5, and all a sudden my leg a red spot that felt like it was on fire nonstop. Then the next day my stomach hived out and had white spots. 2 Benedryl later and no improvement.

On day 7 of taking this 3 times/day and I still have some fever and my throat is still burning with bumps all over the tonsils. If you take a probiotic, you won't have an upset stomach. This medication will cause a headache.

I was given Keflex for an abcess almost a year ago. I had problems from the beginning. I felt drained of energy, all I wanted to do was sleep, my thoughts were foggy, had headaches, my joints felt like they were on fire, and my stomach was constantly in knots. Before I knew it, I ended up with a bladder infection, pain in my lower pelvic region and eventually the pain spread to my abdominals. This was only in four days of use. I have a sinus infection and so far this med is working. Even tho i dont like the side efect of diarea.

I was prescribed this antibiotic for a dental abcess after penicillin and amoxicillin had no effect. It appeared to work well at first, but after a week or so of taking it every 6 hours, the infection returned - and now I have a throat infection to boot.

this medicine put me in the hospital i have GERD and after 2 days of taking this med. i had nothing but vomiting to the point of dehdration which put me in the hospital! I was taking it to prevent infection in my knee replacement
